Cafe De Vili’s, an iconic 24 hour Adelaide bakery, has launched a new novelty donut.
This months donut is burger inspired, and appearances do not disappoint but they deceive a little. This sweet little burger will leave your tastebuds swooning. The donut comes complete with chocolate ganache, fresh cream, choc bits and speckles of salted caramel delights.
The donut is surprisingly realistic in appearance, with no attention to detail lost from the sesame seed bun to the meat patty and fillings within.
Vili’s has been joining in the Adelaide trend of creating limited edition novelty treats each month. August’s donut of the month saw an espresso martini inspired treat made from chocolate genache, fresh cream, infused with coffee and a hint of Kahlua. The espresso martini donut was a huge hit with Vili’s fans, with social media supporters sad to see it go.
Vili’s was founded in 1968 by Adelaide legend Vilmos ‘Vili’ Milisits, who unfortunately passed away earlier this year. Vili’s was originally made famous for its pies but has now expanded to quite an extensive menu across several locations around Adelaide. Vili’s has also opened up their offerings to cater for events.
Cafe De Vili’s is rooted in Adelaide culture. At the beginning of the football finals this year, Vili’s released donuts with both Port Adelaide and Adelaide Crows team coloured sprinkles and icing for footy fans of all Adelaide ilks in to celebrate a showdown match between the two sides at the Adelaide Oval.
There’s something for everyone at Vili’s, with a large range of pies and pastries on offer, as well as larger meals for a retro diner experience. Both coffee and alcohol are on the menu to cater to everyone’s needs at every hour of the day!
