Silver Sands Beach Club will come to life this weekend to celebrate some of the best wines being produced here in SA and overseas. Named ‘Vino Italiano’, the event is bringing together around 100 wines from McLaren Vale, Italy, and beyond, for an epic wine tasting just steps away from the beach.
“The event really pays homage to the Italian thread of historical and current wine culture that runs through the McLaren Vale region,” shared Nick from the Silver Sands team.
“It’s really our way of promoting the producers that are making great wines with Italian grape varieties. Beyond that, we are also huge fans of Italian wine, and we work closely with Australia’s leading importers. So it just seemed right to weave great Italian wineries in amongst the local mix.”
The Silver Sands team ran this event for this beachside party for the first time in 2024, and it was a total success. Now, the second time round, they’ve made it even bigger.
“We have a close relationship with all the producers and importers here, and the event was such a hit in 2024 that we’ve had everyone asking us if they can be involved in 2025. I think this is an annual event that’s here to stay. There’s actually more like 100 wines that we will be offering for tasting now, it keeps growing!”
By combining the best of the best in terms of location, and a fair few good drops, the team hope guests walk away discovering something new. There’ll be tonnes of grape varieties on show, Fiano, Sangiovese, Nero d’Avola, Barbera, Montepulciano, Vermentino, just to name a few, so this is a great chance to find something new.
“We’re offering a style and depth of tasting that delivers so many producers in one place, and we are such a relaxed setting, it really is rare to have a lineup like this in one place.”
Silver Sands Beach Club is located on the sands at Aldinga Beach. The event is ticketed, and at $39 per person, you get access to two hours of tastings as the evening settles in. After the event, which runs from 4pm to 6pm, they invite you to stay and enjoy dinner service.
Nick shares that winter is the perfect time to enjoy the beach club, with stunning views and an even better location. This is a great spot to head to in the cooler months.
“Winter mode for the beach club is all about tucking into new dishes, sipping great wines and watching the weather from a warm, cosy and delicious spot,” he shared.
