In a few months local nomadic wine faves Vinteloper will be calling the Adelaide Hills home. After years of producing award-winning wines, Vinteloper has set its roots in Cudlee Creek, a few kilometres out of Lobethal. We spoke to founder and winemaker David Bowley who is hard at work on the property to ensure a September opening.

Vinteloper Wines distinguish themselves amongst SA’s wealth of different wines with their aromatic and precise wine and their gorgeous branding. Sharon Hong can be credited with the clever and detailed hand drawings that cover the bottles, gorgeous quirky and fantastical imagery with splashes of watercolour accents.

However, this doesn’t mean that you will see a difference in the wines. The ties that Vinteloper already has with Adelaide Hills suppliers in Langhorne Creek and Clare Valley will still remain. David stresses that Vinteloper has built a community with these farmers and that relationship will continue to grow with their production of wine from their original suppliers alongside that of their own grown vines.

There’s more to come too! You can expect an off-site cellar door which will feature Vinteloper alongside a bigger offering, perfect for full day events with concerts, music and dancing. What we’re even more excited about is the on-site tasting room where you will find a tailored experience for a small group. This intimate setting will be an all inclusive and unreserved treatment from David and the team.

This choice to settle down has been several years in the making, from here starts further ambitious growth. David hopes to turn the old farmhouse on the property into a comfortable rustic farmstay for visitors, as well as open a restaurant on the site somewhere with the beautiful rolling Adelaide Hills as a backdrop.

Definitely a spot to keep in mind this approaching Spring. Keep up to date on their Facebook.
