Virgin Australia has announced a major sale on flights to Uluru, starting a 72-hour promotional campaign.

Virgin Australia has announced a major sale on flights to Uluru, starting a 72-hour promotional campaign. From today, travellers can purchase one-way tickets from Brisbane or Melbourne to Uluru at prices starting from just $99 and Adelaide via Melbourne (Tullamarine) from $199. This special is available until 11:59pm AEST on 4 June 2025, unless sold out earlier.

The promotional fares are part of the ’72-Hour Uluru Sale’ and apply specifically to Economy Lite tickets. The travel period for these discounted fares extends from July 2025 through to March 2026. This sale coincides with the airline’s sustained efforts to enhance accessibility to one of Australia’s most iconic destinations.

Uluru is not only a natural landmark but also a place rich in Aboriginal cultural heritage. Visitors can expect to experience unique attractions such as the captivating Sunrise Journeys, the Wintjiri Wiru sound and light shows, and various art experiences offered by SEIT Tours and the Gallery of Central Australia. Outdoor enthusiasts can indulge in world-class stargazing, indulge in gourmet dining under the stars, and explore the scenic beauty with Uluru Astro Tours and Professional Helicopter Services.

The sale is not limited to direct flights alone. Special fares also cover other Australian cities, albeit with connecting flights through Brisbane or Melbourne. These include journeys from Adelaide, Cairns, Hobart, the Gold Coast, Sydney, and Perth to Uluru, with prices adjusted based on the route complexity and additional distance covered.

Monika Tonkin, Acting Chief Marketing Officer for Tourism NT, emphasized that this sale provides travellers with an ideal opportunity to explore Uluru and its offerings. She highlighted the diverse attractions, from Aboriginal cultural experiences to natural and outdoor adventures that families and individuals could enjoy throughout their visit.

Further echoing the sentiment, Libby Minogue, Virgin Australia’s Chief Marketing Officer, mentioned the positive response from travellers since the inaugural Brisbane and Melbourne flights to Uluru in June 2024. Minogue described Uluru as a compelling destination that offers profound spiritual and cultural encounters, alongside the enchantment of its natural landscape.

The sale reflects Virgin Australia’s strategic move to boost travel to Uluru, facilitating tourism and allowing more Australians to explore their country’s heritage and natural beauty at competitive prices.
