Virgin Australia is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style with a huge sale, announcing reduced airfares starting at just $49 for one-way trips. This sale is the perfect excuse to book a holiday at a fraction of the usual cost!
For domestic travellers, this means one-way fares like Sydney to Ballina-Byron can be purchased for as low as $49 under the Economy Lite category or Melbourne to Launceston for $65, and Brisbane to Cairns for $89. The sale extends to a variety of destinations, accommodating different preferences, whether it’s beachside relaxation, urban exploration, or a more secluded outback retreat.
If you’re flying out of Adelaide, you can get to the Gold Coast for as low as $109 or Perth for $179.
Internationally, Virgin Australia is not holding back either. Return trips on the Economy Lite plan include Brisbane to Port Vila starting at $439, Melbourne to Denpasar for $449, and other destinations like Fiji and Samoa.

Virgin Australia is also offering a 25 per cent discount on selected Economy X Exit Row seats. Economy X provides additional legroom and several other priority perks, bettering passenger comfort and experience without a significant premium.
The sale fares are time-sensitive, available for booking until the end of August, with the travel period stretching from mid-October 2025 into late June 2026. Passengers are encouraged to book quickly, as these discounts are subject to availability and could be sold out before the sale officially ends.
Velocity Frequent Flyer members stand to gain further with the Birthday sale, as every discounted flight booked allows them to earn Velocity Points and Status Credits.
