Visions For Now – SALA Moving Image

Adelaide Festival Centre presents this year’s Moving Image exhibition Visions For Now – SALA Moving Image with three contemporary moving image artists presenting new large scale works, responding to the vastly different landscapes in which we can find ourselves.

Artists Leith Matson, Bridgette Minuzzo and Thom Buchanan show case their work as part of the SALA Festival, 3-26 August, taking us from the hectic inner city to the tranquillity of rural landscape, to the exploration of sense of place and perceptual aesthetics to the ongoing exploration of environment in collaboration with local musicians.

Adelaide Festival Centre will also host two other exhibitions as part of this year’s SALA Festival. A collection of photographic works entitled Open Mic USA by Adelaide-based freelance photographer and photojournalist Ben Searcy, displayed in the Space Theatre Foyer. The moving images compiled by Ben Searcy also form a component of a larger exhibition titled Four Moving Image Artists on Adelaide Festival Centre’s foyer TV screens, also showcasing the work artists Kath Dooley, David Frahm, Ben Searcy and Lorelei Siegloff, who will present work on four very different themes, including dance as a means to lose yourself, truth versus capitalism, open mic sessions, and a visual response to the Adelaide Festival Centre building.

These works will be displayed on screens in the foyers of the Festival Theatre, Dunstan Playhouse and the Space Theatre.
