Support Our Local Fisherman Grabbing Fresh Spencer Gulf Prawns For This Weekend

Want iconic Spencer Gulf prawns?! This option will get them to you with a convenient metropolitan pick up.

In South Australia, we have some of the best seafood in the world, extremely close by.

And while not all of us can live near the Spencer Gulf, getting the iconic Spencer Gulf prawns has been made easy with The Prawn Store‘s metropolitan pick up option.

The Prawn Store is a family owned business selling premium Spencer Gulf King Prawns direct to customers across South Australia – and this week will be travelling to the Riverland, Adelaide and Barossa Valley due to demand.

On Wednesday 3rd June The Prawn Store will partner with The Renmark Hotel between 3pm– 6pm with a pop-up store selling delicious prawns to Riverland residents in time for the June long weekend.

“With restrictions lifting a little and people able to travel to the regions and enjoy the long weekend, we saw this as an opportunity to bring the sea to the river – as well as one of our state’s great wine regions, the Barossa Valley.” The Prawn Store spokesperson Diana Williams said.

“Our team are so excited to be visiting Renmark, then back to Adelaide for another Goody Hotel pop up on Friday 5th where sales will be available to anyone between 10am – 1pm.”

The Prawn Store will then make its debut at the Barossa Farmers’ Market on Saturday 6th June for locals to purchase prawns from 8.30am at their new stall.

They return to the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market on Sunday 7th June to complete their fourth pop-up for the week.

The Tapley family who have been fishing Spencer Gulf and surrounding waters for four generations, amidst the recent COVID-19 outbreak, have established a way to still provide fresh, quality seafood to their customers.

Available in 1kg bags or 5kg boxes, The Prawn Store will offer cooked or uncooked Spencer Gulf King Prawns in various sizes for sale at each of their pop-up locations, until sold out. Purchase their products on their website www.theprawnstore.com, and pick up at the following locations.

Wednesday June 3rd – Renmark Hotel pop up 3pm – 6pm
Friday June 5th – The Goody Hotel pop up 10am – 1pm
Saturday June 6th – The Barossa Farmers’ Market – 8.30am – 12.30pm
Sunday June 7th – The Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market – 8.30am – 1pm

If you put in your order now, you get the choice of cooked or uncooked prawns, and they alerted us that after the success of the pre-Easter and pre-Mother’s Day sales at The Goody, they will once again have the 1kg packs available.

Pre-sale collections will be available at Renmark and The Goody, but there will also be last minute sales at all locations until sold out.

Absolute Kings and The Prawn Store have met all HACCP and Food Safety requirements for the delivery of uncooked, frozen Spencer Gulf Prawns and are an accredited member of the Spencer Gulf King Prawn Association.
