Warm, Welcoming And Beyond Delicious; Say Hello To Houda’s Kitchen

Say hello to delicious Mediterranean food and a warm and welcoming vibe…

And then there was another restaurant to add to the ‘must try’ list… A little slice of Mediterranean amazingness has hit Adelaide with the opening of Houda’s Kitchen.

If you don’t love yourself some traditional Lebanese and Italian food, then stop reading. We have a feeling that no one stopped reading…

Coming to us from Port Road, this new kid on the Hindmarsh block offers a wonderfully varied menu in a warm and welcoming set up.

Think all the usual (and delicious) fare that you would expect from Mediterranean digs. Like the tastiest dips served with Lebanese bread. Hello Hummus! And the Lebanese party continues with Zaatar, lots of ‘lamby’ goodness, pastries, meaty skewers, salads including everyone’s fave Fattoush, perfectly marinated and chargrilled seafood, Kaftas and so much more (and by so much more we mean wood oven pizza). We are getting a little love heart eyed here…

And who would we be without mentioning the fact that they serve up traditional Lebanese desserts. Oh yes, that means all of the Baklava! All of it!

So who is the genius behind the food. Well that would be Doumit Awkar, who said that opening Houda’s Kitchen has been a dream since childhood.

Naming the restaurant after his mother, Houda (how adorable), from who he learnt how to cook after watching and helping her in the kitchen, Doumit uses many of the traditional Lebanese recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation.

With a few interesting twists thrown into the menu, this place will have your mouths drooling as soon as you enter. All of the smells! What we love the most, though, it the family vibes and welcoming feel of this place.

Like we said, just another one to add to the list…
