The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will kick off its exciting new initiative, Festival of Orchestra with a stunning opening show, ‘Classical Spectacular’, complete with fireworks and cannons!

Reminiscent of the beloved ‘Symphony under the Stars’ concert, the Classic Spectacular show, conducted by Mark Wigglesworth, will showcase some of the ‘greatest music ever created’ and promises to be a night of passion and spectacle! The Jets and the Sharks will face off to the “pulsating music from Bernstein’s West Side Story’, the soaring emotion of the adagio from Khachaturian’s ballet Spartacus, the scintillating big city sounds of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue and Ravel’s powerfully hypnotising Boléro.

The excitement will continue with thundering cannons and dazzling fireworks accompanying the sounds of Tchaikovsky’s Overture.

This magical night marks only the beginning of a sensational jam-packed program offered by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra running over six nights from November 24 to December 4.

For over a week, the Adelaide Showgrounds will be transformed into a colourful, carnivalesque playground, where guests can celebrate the amazing and versatile talents of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and immerse themselves in some of the world’s greatest orchestral music.

An Australian first, Festival of Orchestra will feature six concerts where patrons can rejoice in music from the concert hall, Broadway, dance club, rock area and the silver screen. There is something for everyone with a range of family-friendly activities, games and displays and dance anthems re-orchestrated with the Ministry of Sound, Blue Planet II Live in Concert with host Dr Karl and more! If this isn’t enough, the event will feature a range of food trucks and bars for guests to indulge in.

Inside the festival, up to 5,000 guests per night have the option to occupy reserved and accessible seating where they can admire the festivities close to the stage, or to enjoy the event with family and friends in The Garden in spacious picnic table style seating. The Steps is the general admission seating option, providing great views of the stage. We suggest bringing cushions and blankets for ultimate comfort!

Adult tickets start from $49 and children from $19, with family and VIP packages and, if you’re under 30, there is discounted pricing with single tickets starting at $44!

To purchase your ticket, visit the ASO Website.
