Stop everything. Waterworld is having a ‘dive in’ movie night this Saturday.
That’s right. Disney’s highly popular film Zootopia will be screened on a massive, inflatable outdoor screen. And here’s the thing. All three of the park’s popular pools – the main pool, the learners pool, and the toddlers pool – as well as the interactive splash pad and the highly popular waterslides will be open to the public all night. So, you can splash, swim and dive to your heart’s content.
Waterworld’s Customer Service Team Leader Kimberly Madigan is excited about the return of one of the park’s most successful events after a two-year hiatus.
“We haven’t screened a film here since before Covid, and with the weather looking nice and warm, it’s promising to be a beautiful balmy return” she said.
The movie – Disney’s Zootopia – is sure to be a hit with the young and the young at heart. Determined to prove herself, Officer Judy Hopps the first bunny on Zootopia’s Police force, jumps at the chance to crack her first case, even if it means partnering with scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve the mystery. It offers a thoughtful and inclusive message – that anyone can be anything – whilst remaining fast and funny enough to keep young viewers glued to the screen.
You bring your own movie snacks to keep you going throughout the night. Just no alcohol or glass. Alternatively, the in-house café will be open for refreshments, with food and drink for sale from 6:30pm. So why not make a night of it?
Waterworld will open at 6:30pm, with the film commencing at 8:30pm and running until approximately 10:10pm. The film has a PG rating and is suitable for families.
‘Dive in’ screenings are one of Waterworld’s longest running and most successful events, so bookings are essential. Tickets range from $12 – $15, with children under 2 free, and family passes also available. The event will be run under the park’s existing guidelines, with kids under 5 required to be in arms reach of their parent/guardian, and waterslides only for kids over age 5 and 1m tall.
So, pack the popcorn, chairs, blankets and swimming gear, and head on down to Waterworld for a splash-tastic night of entertainment.
