West Beach Parks joins forces with Discovery Parks to boost South Australian tourism

West Beach Parks is partnering with Discovery Parks to rebrand and enhance the largest holiday park in South Australia, promising increased visitation and exciting new marketing strategies starting December 2024.

West Beach Parks has announced a strategic partnership with Discovery Parks, which is set to roll out from December 1st 2024. This collaboration will see West Beach Parks Holiday Park in South Australia rebranded as Discovery Parks – West Beach Parks. Discovery Parks, also based in South Australia, operates over 85 holiday parks and resorts nationwide and is part of the expansive G’day Parks network, which includes more than 300 holiday parks.

The new partnership will see a combination of branding, including naming rights and joint sales and marketing efforts. While West Beach Parks Holiday Park will be available for booking on the Discovery Parks and G’day Parks platforms starting December 1, 2024, West Beach Parks will maintain management and operational responsibilities for the holiday park.

The decision for this partnership followed an extensive expression of interest process facilitated by an Independent Evaluation Panel to ensure a competitive and strategic alliance for the holiday park.

Minister for Housing and Urban Development Nick Champion said the new partnership would see two iconic South Australian brands join forces to create a bigger and better tourism destination.

“West Beach Parks Holiday Park is the largest holiday park in the state, so it’s important to be
partnered with a local company, employing South Australians.”

“The partnership will leverage each company’s branding and competitive advantages to help grow visitation.”

Kate Anderson, CEO of West Beach Parks, shared her optimism about the potential benefits of the partnership.

“West Beach Parks Holiday Park will have access to Discovery Parks’ strong loyalty members and will be marketed through the Discovery Parks and G’day websites,” she said

“The partnership will enable us to reach new markets from within South Australia and interstate through complementary marketing activities undertaken by West Beach Parks and Discovery Parks.

“We look forward to working closely with the Discovery Parks team to make this new partnership a success.”

Grant Wilckens, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Discovery Parks, referred to the partnership as a significant milestone for South Australian tourism.

“West Beach Parks Holiday Park is one of the most exceptional holiday parks in the country and a flagship addition to our much-loved national network of Discovery Parks,” said Mr Wilckens.

“This is an exciting partnership for South Australian tourism, and we look forward to working closely with the West Beach Trust to grow visitation to the State through this iconic property.”

West Beach Parks Holiday Park, being the largest holiday park in the state, features extensive facilities and can accommodate up to 3,000 guests. It offers 338 caravan and tent sites, 132 self-catering cabins, six eco tents for ‘glamping’, and a luxurious three-bedroom beach house. Guests can enjoy a variety of on-site amenities including a heated lagoon-style swimming pool, a children’s water park, a newly developed $1.8 million Central Park play space, a new licensed kiosk named The Shack, and more.

This partnership symbolises a significant stride in enhancing tourism infrastructure and services in South Australia, promising to attract more visitors both locally and from interstate. With both organisations leveraging their mutual strengths, the future of West Beach Parks Holiday Park looks promising under the new Discovery Parks – West Beach Parks branding.
