An Albert Park primary school has been closed for cleaning, following the return of a positive covid test of a member of its school community.

Our Lady of Queen of Peace school today announced its closure via Catholic Education SA, with a member of its community testing positive to the virus on Wednesday.

The school as well as its vacation care program has been shut for cleaning and contact tracing, with its term already finished for the year, and its students now on holidays.

Parents from the school have been contacted, with SA Health working to trace close and casual contacts of the case.

They’ve asked all students from class 56LT, who were at the school on December 6th and/or 7th to get tested and quarantine until further advice is received.

Students and parents who attended their Year 6 graduation ceremony at The Lakes Resort on Monday December 6th are also required to follow these instructions for testing and quarantine.

The announcement comes as many schools wrap up for the year this week, with the start of the holidays already commencing for many schools across the state.

If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, no matter how mild, please seek testing as soon as possible.
