Westfield and Disney bring world-first Star Wars experience to SA

Head along to your local Westfield this month for an out-of-this-world Star Wars experience fit for all ages!

Star Wars enthusiasts in South Australia are set for an intergalactic treat as Westfield and Disney join forces to bring the iconic Star Wars universe to life across Australian and New Zealand Westfields.

It’s been 17,115 days since Star Wars: A New Hope made its cinematic debut, igniting the imaginations of audiences worldwide. Interestingly, 17,115 Galactic credits are just enough for a journey from Tatooine to Alderaan.

This synchronicity adds an extra layer of significance to today’s announcement, as South Australian fans eagerly await the unveiling of ‘A Star Wars Experience’ in their local Westfields this April (including Marion, Tea Tree Plaza and West Lakes).

The ‘Spark Excitement’ with Star Wars collaboration will transport families to a galaxy far, far away with a series of unmissable activations and a world-first experience for fans of all ages.

‘Spark Stations’ will be popping up, offering Lightsaber Training sessions, Star Wars-inspired face painting, arts and crafts, and even Star Wars themed foods, including Wookie Cookie decorating. There’s also one one of ten family holidays to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland Resort in California to be won!

To kick off this cosmic campaign, Australian comedian, actor, and Star Wars aficionado Joel Creasey, alongside fellow fans, partook in a Lightsaber ribbon cutting ceremony at Westfield Sydney.

The event culminated with a breathtaking helicopter-captured fan photo atop Sydney Tower Eye’s observation platform.

“It’s beyond exciting to be celebrating the arrival of Star Wars at Westfield! I’m a proud lifelong fan of the greatest franchise in the galaxy, and my parents even met as extras on the set of ‘The Empire Strikes Back,” Joel Creasey, said.

“Their love of the Star Wars universe and memories of the film played a huge part in driving me to work in this industry so I’m thrilled to celebrating with other fans today at our Lightsaber ribbon cutting today. There’s so much fun to be had at Westfield in the next few weeks including Lightsaber Training and A Star Wars Experience, along with plenty of activities for the young Padawans over the school holidays too – Chewie, we’re home!”

With anticipation building, South Australian Star Wars devotees eagerly await the launch of ‘Spark Excitement’ with Star Wars at their local Westfield destinations. As the Force awakens, fans are primed for an unforgettable journey to a galaxy far, far away.
