Westfield West Lakes A/W Fashion Parades

Lifestyle Imagery 4Red carpet, body painted models, pink sweets and Moet champagne epitomised the fashion event at Westfield West Lakes last Thursday. The invite-only V.I.P event showcased this season’s current fashion trends.

On arrival, we were treated to champagne and dessert canapés; including cupcakes with pink frosting that read “Westfield” on top, pink macarons and pink lollies. We were walked to our front row seats where goody-bags filled with samples awaited us.

Guests enjoyed the sounds of DJ Sneaky Beats and were greeted on stage by stylist Kylie Crabtree (dressed by CUE) of LUXE styling and Alexis Kuchel (dressed by CUE) from SAFM. Entertainment from Amity Dry set the show off in style.

Military outfits dominated the runway with camo print dresses and pants, khaki greens, black studded boots and bags, and spiked metal jewellery.

Leather was a key trend continuously seen throughout the parade and adapted into a number of different looks.

Graphic prints on narrow legged trousers, shirts, and blazers emerged; as well as feminine florals on petite pencil skirts and long sleeved dresses.

It was a blast from the past when the models in their gothic romance themed outfits stepped onto stage, flaunting Medieval, Renaissance, Victorian and Elizabethan wear. Rich luxurious fabrics such as lace, tulle and velvet made up the sumptuous look, along with romantic reds, black and gold shades.

Another strong trend was gold intertwined with black in the form of mesh, print, studding, or simply black and gold accessories. The look boasts opulence and extravagance.

If you are yet to style your winter wardrobe I would recommend investing in a lot of of black, gold, maroon and khaki greens. Grab yourself something leather, a few spiked accessories and some military boots or block heels and you are set for the cool nights to come.

Check out Inglot, The Body Shop and Napoleon Perdis to get the beauty look of the season.

Westfield’s West Lakes shopping centre will be holding free styling and beauty consultations next Thursday, Friday and Saturday as well as a host of other events. There are no excuses for neglecting your wardrobe this season.
