If you’re in the mood for a cozy Sunday filled with top-notch Chardonnay and tasty eats, you’ll want to head over to Golding Wines on May 19th.

They’re rolling out the red carpet for a Chardonnay-themed day that’s part of the Chardonnay May festival and it sounds like a perfect plan as the weather cools down.

The event kicks off at 10:30am at their spot in Lobethal with a masterclass hosted by the owners, Darren and Lucy Golding. They’re ready to pour you a glass or four, featuring everything from their award-winning 2016 Marjorie Sparkling Blanc de Blancs to a special release from their cellar. And they’re matching each glass with some tasty bites to show off how versatile Chardonnay can be.

After savoring some of Adelaide Hills’ finest Chardonnays, you’ll be treated to a hearty five-course meal that promises to be both filling and flavorsome. Here’s a look at what your palate can expect:

First Course: Kick things off with Yellowfin Tuna Tataki. It’s fresh, topped with Wakame salad, seaweed aioli, yuzu pearls, and toasted sesame.

Second Course: Next, tuck into some Poached Southern Rock Lobster. It’s creamy, with a Marie Rose sauce, avocado mousse, and a sprinkle of native finger lime caviar on a crunchy quinoa crisp.

Third Course: The meal gets earthier with a Wild Mushroom Risotto, laden with Adelaide Hills Porcini, Grana Padano cheese, a hint of truffle oil, and lemon thyme.

Fourth Course: Then, it’s time for the Smoked Duck Breast, complemented by a sharp cremoulade, zesty fresh horseradish, and a deep caramelised shallot jus. This dish balances smokiness with fresh, peppery bites.

Fifth Course: End on a high note with a local Adelaide Hills cheese board. It features Triple Cream Brie, Section 28 Mont Priscilla, fig brûlée, Kangaroo Island honey, and salted lavosh. YUM!

“During Chardonnay May we have the opportunity to shine a light on beautiful cool climate Chardonnay produced in the Adelaide Hills. Our region is producing some fantastic expressions of this variety and we happily share the Chardonnay love with our guests at Golding Wines” Lucy said.

“From sparkling to still wines, there is so much to love about Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.”

“Our Autumn Tables masterclass and degustation will be a relaxed event with plenty of good conversation about wine and food and a little bit about our story in the Hills. Whilst Chardonnay is the focus of our masterclass we have paired our lunch courses with wines from across our range meaning there is something for the red lovers as well.”

Priced at $185 per person, this event is ideal for anyone looking to spice up their usual weekend routine with something a little different.

So, if you fancy a day of sipping Chardonnay, learning a bit, and eating well in a beautiful setting, grab your tickets for Golding Wines’ event. It’s a chance to chill, chat, and cheers in one of Adelaide’s prettiest spots.
