We’ve found the ultimate day spa to resurrect your indoor plants

Introducing the spa treatment fit for a monstera! Indoor plant and gift shop CHARLIE & JACK offers a day spa pampering and repotting service for your favourite indoor plants.

Introducing the spa treatment fit for a Monstera! Indoor plant and gift shop CHARLIE & JACK is offering a day spa pampering and repotting service for your favourite indoor plants. Bring in your plants to be treated, repotted and refreshed to full health!

Beloved local indoor plant and gift emporium CHARLIE & JACK has been brightening Victor Harbor homes since January 2018. Named after owner Kristy Robertshaw’s now grown-up children, this charming store offers a beautiful range of indoor flora, ceramics, and unique gifts.

When we heard the business was offering plant day spa treatments, we couldn’t help being curious.

Owner Kristy Robertshaw explains how it works. “I bring the plants into the shop – we have a quarantine roller door, so they don’t infect all the other kids. Then I repot them, pest check and treat before fertilising and giving them a leaf shine,” Robertshaw says. Voila! You’ve taken your indoor plant out for a luxurious day spa, and Robertshaw says it’ll very much thank you for it. “They will be looking so good you’ll wish you could book yourself in,” she says.

“I started having people not have the time, knowledge or space to be repotting themselves, so I started offering the service and it’s been really popular,” Robertshaw says.

So when is the right time to bring your plant in? Any time your plants are looking a little bit sad, maybe it’s the soil, or the leaves are getting a little yellow, Kristy and the team are there to provide a day of pampering that will get your greenery looking better than ever. Perhaps your plant is outgrowing its old pot and it’s ready for a new one. The expert team at CHARLIE & JACK is there to do the dirty work for you.

Having run her shop for nearly seven years, Robertshaw says, “it’s really nice because I get some of the plants people have bought early on from me coming back to be repotted often multiple times.” She says it’s a wonderful feeling seeing indoor plants grow to their full potential.

Robertshaw admits that she is ultra-passionate about plants, and references membership of the group Crazy Indoor Plant People Australia (C.I.P.P.A).

“It all started because I repot all the plants before they come into the shop for sale and give them human names,” Robertshaw says. It’s a fun way for customers to connect with their indoor gardens, and a unique way to personalise each plant.

Before and after repotting

The service is as little as $2, and if the plant doesn’t require a repotting, the store will only charge for soil-cost. The pricing is based on new pot size, and ranges from $2 for a 100mm pot, to $48 for extra-large 500mm pots.

The service sees many Victor Harbor locals bring their plants in as well as plenty of others from around the region and many people coming from Adelaide. The business also offers house-visits for stubborn or hard to move plants, and will arrive in their van, Nelson VAN-dela with all the supplies.

What sets the store apart is its commitment to plant health and happiness. Each plant that comes into the shop for sale is carefully repotted and given a quirky name, making it easy to connect with your new green friend.

The store’s expert staff can provide personalised advice on plant selection and care, ensuring your indoor jungle absolutely thrives.

From repotting services and spa treatments to “Green Your Space” consultations, CHARLIE & JACK offers a comprehensive range of services to help you cultivate a lush and vibrant home. Whether you’re a seasoned plant parent or a budding green thumb, Charlie & Jack is your one-stop shop for all your plant needs.
