Do you like some trancing beats with your Fringe shows? Then the Adelaide Techno Convention is the event for you! This historic event, held this Saturday (25 February) at the Adelaide Rowing Club, has been a long time coming! It’s been far too long since our amazing city has had a large amount of exclusively SA-made DJs and music producers all together for one exciting event. Mad March truly can’t get any better!
Did you know that Adelaide has a truly rich history of techno music and has been one of the most influential cities for the genre in the world? We sure didn’t! But some of our biggest exports include DJ HMC (Australia’s godfather of techno), Juice Records, Cuckoo Music and Nightime Drama. Talk about big names! You lucky techno-lovers will get to hear them all, because these crews will all be performing and represented at the Convention.
Sebastian Joseph from People Of The Groove, the organiser of the Convention, says that this event is about motivating, reinvigorating and inspiring our scene (young and old) to be proud of this city’s history in electronic music! He wants to promote what we have now and build on it, making a strong and influential future in music production and exporting of our unique local sound.
