Here are our top events for the October long weekend:

Grenache & Gourmet | Sept 16 – Oct 3

Final week of Grenache and Gourmet with a range of events happening across McLaren Vale to celebrate the drop. Woodstock Wines are holding its Spring Fling party and an exclusive dinner at D’Arenberg is also on the cards.

Madame Hanoi Seafood Street Festival | Sept 14 – Oct 8th

Head Chef Raj Kumar has specially curated a mouth-watering menu that is filled with colourful dishes that explore the unmistakable energy of street food.  The special seafood menu features 13 dishes and is available from Tuesday to Saturday in addition to the venue’s normal menu at dinner sittings only. Range of 13 seafood dishes including: Hervey Bay grilled Scallops, Crispy White Bait, Smokey Garfish, Octopus Salad and Whole Steamed Coral Trout

Hentley Farm 25th Birthday Picnic | 30 Sept – 3 Oct

Now that Spring has sprung, Hentley Farm is celebrating a huge milestone celebrating 25 years with a gourmet picnic series. Over 4 days in the October Long Weekend, Hentley’s estate lawns will be transformed into a luxe picnic experience.

The goodies feature a range of cheeses and meats, gourmet crackers, fresh fruit and vegetables, various dried fruits and nuts, fruit paste, South Australian Olives, cornichons and more!

Shapeshifter Brewing 1st Birthday | 30 Sept – 3 Oct

Shapeshifter Brewing is turning one and to celebrate they have organised a full weekend of celebrations as well as birthday cookies, beer slushy machines, amazing food trucks and live music!

And of course, there will be brand new, special birthday beers pouring all weekend.

Spring Fest Family Camping Party | 30 Sept – 3 Oct

Take a trip to the Adelaide Hills with the family and enjoy a weekend of fun-filled activities for kids and adults alike! Try your hand at the challenge hill obstacle course or race someone out of the labyrinth. Maybe grab an inflatable donut and enjoy a ride down the giant tube slide.

With activities all long weekend and special activities for each day from a communal campfire to an outdoor cinema, there is much to be done from dusk until dawn at the Woodhouse.

Ozero Music & Arts 2022 | Sept 30 – Oct 3

Gear up for a three-day event in the heart of the CBD, rejoicing in a line up of local and international acts while paying respects to the land you are dancing on, land of the Warki people.

As this is a leave-no-trace event, make sure you have fun all while being respectful to the space and not making any mess, just relax and vibe to the sweet vibrations of the act lineup.

Cocktail making class at Prohibition Liquor Co. | 30 Sept

Taking the time to learn the craft of a cocktail can make you appreciate and bask in it so much more! Go by yourself, bring a friend (or the possible alcoholic in the family) and be guided on the history of gin and how to make two of Prohibition’s signature cocktails.

AFLW Showdown at Adelaide Oval – 30 Sept

The inaugural showdown will see Port Adelaide take on the Adelaide Crows under lights at Adelaide oval this Friday night in a historic moment for the AFLW. Port Adelaide’s Erin Phillips will lead her team out against her former co-captain Chelsea Randall’s Crows

Montaigne at the Lion Arts Factory | 30 Sept

Australian singer-songwriter and Eurovision representative Montaigne will appear at the Lion Arts Factory this Friday night!

A natural storyteller and entertainer, Montaigne’s unique artistry is set to keep you captivated throughout her entire set, featuring her new track with Talking Head’s David Byrne. Enjoy specialty cocktails from the Lion Arts Bar and watch Montaigne perform from the upstairs seating area or dance your heart out on the floor.

The 60 Four: One Night Only | 30 Sep

Kick off your long weekend right by jamming out to some energetic 60s music and other classics in this Las Vegas-style performance by one of South Australia’s premier acts. Receiving the Fringe Best Music Weekly Award twice, this event at the Thebarton Theatre is their biggest show to date!

Think the Beach Boys, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons and Elvis, with a myriad of tempos and emotions with every song performed!

Oktoberfest at Grünthal Brew | 1 Oct

Grunthal (AKA Green Valley) microbrewery is hosting an Oktoberfest-themed long weekend, with new German food specials, outfits and music, as well as two new beer releases, which you can enjoy from Grünthal’s own beer steins! Verdun is going to be the place for a new experience when it comes to the German culture of food, drink and entertainment.

The Deep North at Adelaide Festival Centre | 28 Sep – 1 Oct

Adelaide Festival Centre’s Space theatre is home to an Australian African musical. It tells the story of Jasmine Mutesa, who has to choose between a scholarship at one of Adelaide’s most prestigious schools and keeping her family from falling apart in Port Augusta.

Featuring compositions and performances from Adelaide talents James Bannah Jr and Elsy Wameyo, this witty performance is sure to captivate you for all of its 90 minute runtime.

Oktoberfest in the Gardens | 1 Oct

Dust off your lederhosen and dirndls and let’s all raise our glasses to good times, good mates and good beer this October!

The Oktoberfest celebrations are coming back after 3 years, with better beers, bigger bratwurst and more bountiful Bavarian bliss than you could shake a pretzel at.

Oktoberfest at the Pony | 1 Oct – 2 Oct

Enjoy the public holiday at the Prancing Pony Brewery celebrating Oktoberfest, with many foods on offer, whip cracking, bell ringing and of course, beer drinking! Enjoy all these festivities while listening to the tunes of the Hahndorf Town Band.

Grapevine Gathering | 2 Oct

Hosted by lovable Instagram celebrities and all-round legends ‘The Inspired Unemployed’, Australia’s favourite wine and music pairing ‘Grapevine Gathering’ will be headlined by English indie band The Kooks for their first trip to Australia since 2018!

Dance music’s favourite duo Peking Duk, identical twins and singers of ‘Untouched’ The Veronicas, Brissy band Ball Park Music, dance-pop quartet Confidence Man, and ‘Supalonely’ collaborator Gus Dapperton also front the bill.
