The October long weekend is fast approaching and it’s time to properly wave away winter.
In classic spring style, there are plenty of events happening happening around the state.
So you don’t kick yourself over another wasted long weekend, we’ve compiled a list of the hottest places and events to head to this long weekend.
Unfortunately in 2020, Spring Affair as we know it will not go ahead. However, the October long weekend will still need celebrating! Join Maxwell Wines for an exclusive Spring Affair event: the Maxwell Spring Affair Picnic. A day of relaxed eating and drinking, catching up with your closest friends and soaking up some warmer spring weather.
At the beautiful Plant 4 Bowden venue, they will be hosting, ‘Plant Based at Plant 4.’ This event will be run on Saturday night 3rd October from 5pm-9pm. The bar and music will continue till later. This event showcases amazing plant based food and eateries. As well as great eats, there is local craft beer, SA wine, and cocktails on offer, also featuring Adelaide distilleries. The gorgeous winery are offering a dinner on the Friday night of the long weekend. The restaurant will be open all day, with lunch beginning at 12 and ending at 3pm. Dinner service will begin at 5:30, with the last booking being at 8pm. Live music will also bee played from 5:30. Find Howard Vineyard at 53 Bold Hills Road, Nairne SA.
This is a great option for a fun and relaxing Sunday afternoon of the long weekend. Bring your friends along to enjoy a two-hour guided painting session. All skill levels are welcome, even those with no experience. The event will run from 1:30-3:30 on Sunday the 4th of October. All materials are provided on the day. The event is 18+. Songbirds – A Cappella Singing
Break out the picnic gear and head to the Warriparinga Wetlands to enjoin A Cappella Singing from Onkaparinga Harmony Chorus. The event will run on Sunday the 4th of October from 3-4pm. Enjoy a range of songs from Billy Joel to Leonard Cohen. This event is suitable for all ages. It is hosted at Living Kaurna Cultural Centre and Warriparinga Wetlands Warraparinga Way Bedford Park, SA 5042.
This weekend from 8:30 to 12, the Adelaide Hills Farmers’ Market will be open for business. Enjoy a morning drive through hills and check out the amazing produce on offer here in SA. Think cold pressed juice, wood oven baked goods, fresh honey and olive oil, as well as live entertainment. Find the Farmers’ Market at 23 Mann Street Mount Barker.
This event will run from 1:00-2:30 on Sunday the 4th of October. Join Prohibition Liquor Co Founder Adam Carpenter to experience a masterclass in gin. You will learn about gin, flavour botanicals, and get amazing special insights into the distillation process. You will get three tastings through the experience, as well as a gourmet toastie! The classic experience of gourmet sandwiches, pastries, fresh scones and other sweet treats are the perfect option for a Spring afternoon. The event is hosted at the Riverside Restaurant in the InterContinental, and runs from 1-4pm. Enjoy the views of the river while tucking into some amazing foods. The Stamford Plaza Adelaide hotel is hosting their Adelaide Chocolate High Tea on the 4 October from 3-5pm in the afternoon. The chocolate is supplied by Veliche Chocolate, which is made in Belgium. Head over to Little Bang Brewing Co. to check out some live tunes from Horror My Friend. Craft beer, as well as wine and cider will be available throughout the events, as well as the Little Band Kitchen providing great food. Bring your friends and some song requests and setting in from a great evening. The event is running from 12-7 pm on Saturday the 3 of October.
