What To Eat & Expect At This Year’s Sell-Out Handpicked Festival

With the hidden wine region on her door step, Cooper has sourced a diverse collection of the states finest producers and food trucks to satisfy the crowds taste buds.

Music and wine festival Handpicked has sold out in record fashion this year, with six thousand lucky festival goers securing tickets for the November 9 extravaganza.

Handpicked creator, Kate Cooper was blown away with the response from the public; ‘I am so happy, it feels like Christmas morning when I think about it,’ said Cooper.

Nestled amongst the 100 year old gums and vines of Lake Breeze Wines, the family-run event is a feast for the sense, encouraging patrons to reconnect with nature through barefoot dancing, slow living vibes, authentic experiences and incredible food and wine from the region.

With the hidden wine region on her door step, Cooper has sourced a diverse collection of the states finest producers and food trucks to satisfy the crowds taste buds.

‘This year you can expect to taste food from Let Them Eat, The Gang Gang Co, Sooki La La, Home Gain and sweet treats from the Crepe Bar.’ Lake Breeze Wines will also supply a selection of hampers with local cheese, a section of meat, seasonal fruit, nuts, bread, crackers as well as local quince paste, hummus and crudités.

The Barrel Bar has also been extended by 6 meters to accommodate for the record number of patrons, created out of a five metre wall of vintage barrels, the extended bar will guarantee shorter waiting times.

Those with the Premium VIP passes are spoilt with the best seats in the house for the superb lineup featuring Amy Shark, Missy Higgins and John Butler. Handpicked Cellar Door’s Premium space boasts a double decker bus bar with roof top viewing.

‘The double decker bus is truly one of kind, it has a viewing platform metres above the ground which allows guests to overlook the trees and have an incredible view of the Lake Breeze grounds as well as the stage,’ says Cooper.

Allied to this incredible experience, a stones throw away from the nearby creek is Handpicked’s bustling marketplace where goers can grab flower crowns, face painting, henna on top of local crafts.

This years festival is shaping up to be one for the ages; for those who managed to grab tickets, enjoy; and to those who didn’t, don’t make the same mistake next year.
