What to expect with TDU and WOMAD in 2021

“I think we’re going to have to change all of our events with large crowds,” Mr Marshall says.

South Australia’s Premier, Steven Marshall has stated that in lieu of the Tour Down Under, a localised Australian version will take place.

“There was no way we could have the big parties associated with the TDU,” he says.

The TDU replacement festival will involve Stuart O’Grady and the team at Events SA, who will be announcing details of the cycling festival in the coming weeks.

The WOMADelaide organisers are currently in conversation with SA Health for a modified program, however, Mr Marshall says that it will not proceed in its normal capacity.

“I think we’re going to have to change all of our events with large crowds,” he says.

“Tens of thousands of people walking through the parklands will not be a reality.”

Confirmed to be going ahead are Fringe and Adelaide Festival, both set to take place in February and March.
