Easter. It can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. To some it is a very special time, to be reflective and spend time with family, to others it is an extra long weekend, filled with as many activities as possible.

And then there are those who just love it for the chocolate. And the hot cross buns…

WHAT’S ON

FRIDAY APRIL 7TH

April 7-10: Simon Tolley Wines is partnering with Oakbank Easter Races @ Oakbank

Huge music acts, two days of racing, kids’ entertainment and more: Oakbank Easter Festival is bigger than ever.

The full program for the 2023 Oakbank Easter Festival has arrived, and there’s something for everyone in the stacked three-day program spanning Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.

Fan favourite bands Wolfmother and The Superjesus will co-headline a new ‘Oakbank Soundtracks’ concert on Good Friday, alongside Acoustic Juice featuring a guest appearance by The Masters Apprentices.

Simon Tolley Wines will be serving its award-winning wines all throughout this festival on Good Friday and Easter Saturday, the Cellar Door will be open again on Easter Sunday and Monday.

April 7-10: The Marion Hotel’s Cadbury Chocolate Egg Cocktail

This Easter cocktail is unlike anything you’ve had before, the large glass is rimmed with chocolate and sprinkles, getting you excited for what is to come. Inside your cocktail glass, a huge Cadbury Chocolate Egg awaits, but that’s not all! This easter egg holds your cocktail and while time passes and you sip away, the chocolate will slowly melt into your cocktail.

The Marion Hotel will remain open for all-day dining throughout the long weekend, if this isn’t enough good news, there will also be no public holiday surcharge. Hot Cross Buns will be available in The Garden Bar across the weekend, paired perfectly with the Cadbury Egg cocktail special.

Free spirit tastings with Red Hen Spirits will also be available from 4-6pm on Thursday 6 April as a great way to kick off a four day weekend. The beloved sports bar, also known as The Shed, will have live footy on the big screen across the entire weekend from Thursday 6 April to Monday 10 April.

April 7-10: Meadows Easter Fair

First held in 1997, The Meadows Easter Fair has become a staple of Easter celebrations in Adelaide. This years event welcomes over 140 specialty stalls, including gourmet produce, food, craft, plants, books, treasures and more. The fair is open 9-4 each day of the Easter Long Weekend and is the perfect way to entertain the kids.

April 7-10: Woodhouse Activity Centre

Woodhouse Activity Centre in Piccadilly is open every day of the Easter long weekend for screen-free day adventures and plenty of family fun from 9 am to 5 pm each day.

Get the family out for the much-loved Tube Slides as they will run on Saturday, Sunday and Monday of this long weekend.

Included in your day adventure is the Woodhouse Easter Photo Hunt ‘Selfie Competition’, guests can collect their entries at reception then their task is to find the place on Woodhouse property where each photo was taken. Snap a selfie for the chance to win an Easter prize from Melba’s Chocolates or an annual membership to the Woodhouse Activity Centre which is valued at $170.

April 6-9: Shapeshifter Brewing Co at Findon for the Dark Crafts

Shapeshifter Brewing Co will be bringing back some of their most loved dark craft beers including Shot in the Dark Coffee Stout which will be reimagined as their own Espresso Martinis. 

This is a free event, there’s live entertainment and the best Easter Tacos in Adelaide. What’s even better? The Shapeshifter Indoor Beer garden is back to host the fun.

April 7-9: Small Victories Wine Co’s Wine + Potato Crisps Tasting Experience

This popular Cellar Door is open on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Sunday to bring guests a unique and fun experience these holidays.

From 11 am until 4 pm on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Sunday, Small Victories Wine Co will be offering wine tastings and a Wine + Potato Crisps Tasting Experience, cheese platter boxes will also be available by pre-order. April 5-30: Betty’s Burgers limited-time-only burger

Head into Betty’s Burgers this Easter to snatch up their limited edition Betty’s twist on an OG Aussie favourite, where guests can enjoy a new Fish & Chip Burger for $16.

This new burger will feature battered flathead, french fries, fresh fennel and onion salad, lettuce and house-made tartare all layered perfectly in a delicious milk bun. April 7: ‘Wines and Good Times’ Good Friday Garden Party

April 7-10: Oakbank Easter Festival

Traditionally known as Australia’s best picnic race meeting, the Oakbank Easter Racing Festival is set amongst the scenic hills and offers families and racegoers a one-of-a-kind racing experience where you can bring your own picnic baskets, rugs, deck chairs, BYO beverages and barbecues to kick off your Easter long weekend in style and relaxation. This event has a lot of off the track entertainment, including fan favourite Aussie band, Wolfmother, performing on the Friday, as well as on-site car parking and kids’ entertainment including sporting and craft activities, face painting, jumping castles and animal petting zoos.

April 8: Middleton Winery Front Yard Festival

If you’re a fan of live music, South Australian wine and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Middleton, then the Middleton Winery Front Yard Festival is for you! Taking place on Easter Saturday, Front Yard Festival is a family-friendly, boutique event that is sure to be a hit for the whole family. And for those worried about getting hungry, never fear! April 8-10: Celebrate your Easter long weekend at the Lloyd Brothers

Lloyd Brothers are pulling out all the stops this Easter long weekend with three days of fun and food under the sun. The popular restaurant and Cellar Door is closing it’s doors on Good Friday while they prepare for a couple of big days out on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

On Saturday there will be live music by Ben and Michaela Smith as lawn games play out in the scenic restaurant, pizza and arancini will be served along with regional platters and cheese boards and kid’s packs and ice cream will also be available for the little ones. From 11 am their popular Vintage Tours will be taking place, set to take you through an educational and historic guide of the vineyards and winery with tastings and luncheons available via pre-booking.

On Sunday and Monday, guests will be able to indulge in a range of tastings and regional platters to satisfy their inner foodies while enjoying the Easter Sunday fun.

APRIL 8-9 THE MAYFAIR HOTEL HIGH TEA

Looking for a way to celebrate Easter with your girlfriends, family visiting from interstate or to kick off the school holidays? 9 April | SUNDAY

APRIL 9-10 EASTER COASTAL BUNNY RUN

Get your adrenaline pumping down in Semaphore this long weekend at the Easter Coastal Bunny Run. Kicking off on at 7:00am Easter Sunday and Monday, the run is between 5km, 10km, 21.1km and 42.2km in distance (depending on the distance you nominate). Registrations are still available until the 6th of April, and participants are encouraged to ‘bunny up’ and get into the Easter spirit. A discount applies if you run both days (same distance) with a larger “BUNNY DOUBLE” medal available for $15. However, the most important aspect of this event is the money that will be raised for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation and Bravehearts, as part of the proceeds will be donated #endcancer and #protectkids.

Dusting off the bottles from the museum cellar, Rosenvale Vineyards every weekend through March and the Easter Long weekend will have some of their finest back vintage wines available for tasting and purchase. These limited wines are absolutely stunning! The Uraidla Hotel

With rustic decor to match its rustic pub menu, a spacious outdoor area with stunning views of the beautiful rugged terrain and toasty open fireplaces, they don’t call the Uraidla Hotel one of SA’s best pubs for nothing. Not to be confused with the Bridgewater Mill, the Bridgewater Inn is a charming pub located just 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD.
