Wheel&Barrow Home set to join refurbished Burnside Village

The South Australian kitchen and homewares store is set to open its newest store in Burnside Village, joining the centre’s luxury lifestyle precinct.

The newest member of the Burnside Village party is an absolute go-to when it comes to kitchen and homewares. Wheel&Barrow Home is officially opening its doors within the expansive, redeveloped Burnside Village this Saturday, 7 June.

Wheel&Barrow is a haven for all things kitchenware, and if you love cooking, or you’re buying for someone who does, your eyes will light up as soon as you step inside. The new store will span 145 square metres and feature all the favourite collections.

It’ll also showcase the brand’s signature table settings and home styling displays, bringing out the latest trends in an immersive, inspiring space.

“The store is a testament to thoughtful, stylish design and customer-centric layout. With standout features like the home décor section, exclusive glassware, home fragrances and an extensive range of vases and luxury florals, it is a destination for shoppers seeking both inspiration and style for their home,” Wheel&Barrow General Manager Deb O’Reilly tells us.

Luxurious glasses fit for a cherished Chardonnay collection, dinnerware to make any food look good, gorgeous cookware that’ll impress your friends, it’s all there

The brand is proudly South Australian, adding a distinctly local option for beautiful homewares within the new retail precinct.

“As a locally owned brand, the opening of our Burnside Village store in our hometown allows us to further establish Wheel&Barrow as a beloved and trusted name in homewares, reinforcing our connection and commitment to South Australia,” O’Reilly said.

The Burnside Village redevelopment, now partially open to the public, features a 2200-square-metre triple-glazed glass roof, high-end architectural finishes, and a carefully curated mix of international and Australian flagship brands. Wheel&Barrow is one of more than 80 new stores joining the centre as part of this major evolution.

The Wheel&Barrow Burnside Village opening marks the South Australian-owned brand’s 20th store across the country and its fourth in the state.

“Burnside Village is an iconic, contemporary shopping precinct,” O’Reilly said. “Opening a new Wheel&Barrow store in Burnside Village’s new lifestyle precinct is an exciting opportunity for the brand. It allows us to bring our high-quality homewares presented within a beautiful new store to our customers within a shopping precinct that is complementary to our brand and sought after by our customers.”

Wheel&Barrow was founded by Mary Kotses in the mid-90s. The brand has grown to be an iconic Adelaide institution and a beloved store to buy gifts and homewares across the country. With South Australian locations already in Hyde Park, Marion and Norwood, the state’s fourth store is set to spotlight the latest in home and kitchenware trends.

What to expect? It’s all about vibrant prints and intricate textures. Gone are the days of playing it safe with plain crockery. Vibrant prints and bold colours are now setting the tone for high-end dining. Wheel&Barrow’s latest collections are right on cue.

“At Wheel&Barrow, we’re seeing strong trends in hand painted patterns and natural textures across dining and kitchenware, with unique servingware and statement centrepieces becoming must-haves for the modern table,” O’Reilly said.

“Our globally sourced collections reflect our commitment to offering one-of-a-kind pieces. We curate our range by keeping a close eye on what’s trending and seasonal, ensuring our products are not only stylish but also practical. Warm tones and textured finishes are also trending in home décor, all of which can be seen throughout our latest homeware collections,” O’Reilly continued.

Part of Wheel&Barrow’s new range is the Tunisian Fish collection, a vibrant new assortment that brings heritage and craftsmanship to the table. Each piece is made from white clay and hand painted in Tunisia by a multi-generational family of artisans using traditional techniques. With no two items exactly the same, every piece is one-of-a-kind.

This is the kind of detail and charm that the South Australian brand strives to bring to your kitchen, and it’s more affordable than you might think.

Located on Level 1 in the home and lifestyle precinct, the Wheel&Barrow Burnside Village store will accompany the likes of Le Creuset, UNIQLO, MECCA and more in the new retail precinct.

To celebrate the grand opening, the first 200 Wheel&Barrow customers will receive a complimentary set of four stemless champagne flute glasses, valued at $39.95, with any purchase over $10. The offer is limited to one gift per customer, while stocks last.
