When Harry Met Adelaide: Billy Crystal To Tour

The internationally acclaimed Hollywood funnyman will be bringing his stage show to Adelaide for the first time ever this July.

The Rolls Royce vintage of Hollywood funnymen, a Tony® and Emmy Award®-winner, an actor, producer, writer and director. He has so much talent, it shoots from the stage like rainbows from a Unicorn horn. Just picture it folks. Watching Billy Crystal live on stage…

Well, it’s not a tale from Narnia anymore as the comedian has added an Adelaide date to his winter Australian tour dates. Clearly, he likes the cold weather. Or he doesn’t like being around during the US presidential primaries. Whatever the reason, on Sunday, July 24 the Festival Theatre have a coup on their hands as he brings his brand new stand up show to the stage with very special guest Andrew Denton joining him. Talk about a double header!

The evening promises to be a hilarious and personal evening with Crystal providing his unique observations on the world around and reflects on his life and career so far. Hecklers will no doubt try their luck for some When Harry Met Sally, City Slickers and Analyze This lines, and I bet he’s got some sharp tongued answers ready for the occasion. The nine-time host of the Academy Awards, last toured Australia, Melbourne, and Sydney in 2007 for his hugely successful play 700 Sundays, for which he won a Tony Award and Helpmann Award.

This will be his first ever visit to Adelaide. Will he make it to Cleland like all our celebrity visitors, or will he do a Shannon Doherty and go to the Exeter to play darts on his night off? Regardless, he’ll be at his absolute best on stage.

Billy Crystal will perform on Sunday July 24 at the Adelaide Festival Theatre. Tickets are available online or by calling BASS on 131 246.
