Have you been looking to try SA’s best mince pies this festive season? Look no further than CJ’s Bakery in Christies Beach! CJ’s Bakery have won 1st Place at the Royal Adelaide Show for their mince pies, and even this year took out 2nd Place on the National stage in August.
CJ’s Bakery’s mince pies are a classic shape with traditional mince filling, topped with a star cut out, and dusted in icing sugar. The fruit within the pies is all high quality and Australian, and the pies are made by hand in-house.
“Over the years the goal has been to make a handmade fruit mince pie that’s simply really yummy,” shared owner Andrew.
“Our pastry is made with real butter, we try and source our fresh vine fruit, sultanas and currants, from Australian producers, and everything’s made by hand.”

CJ’s mince pies join a long list of festive goodies at the bakery including Yule Logs, Decorate-Your-Own Pavlova Tree Kits, shortbread Christmas trees, and Brandy Puddings.
CJ’s Bakery is a family-owned and operated bakery that has been serving pastries, desserts, and breads since 2010. Over the years, it has become a favourite spot for locals and is widely recognised and awarded across the state and nationally.
This year alone CJ’s Bakery was very well awarded at the Royal Adelaide Show. CJ’s Bakery earned first place for their unsliced white sandwich loaf and baguette in the bread categories. Also first place awards for their standard pasties, yeast-raised fruited finger buns, and yeast-raised chocolate doughnuts, and were awarded the Unox Apprentice Category Special Incentive Award.
In the bakery, you’ll find all your favourites like pies, sausage rolls, ciabatta rolls and fresh salad rolls, doughnuts, house-made Danish pastries, handcrafted fresh sourdough bread, hot and iced coffees and
milkshakes.
“You can’t go past our pasties, they’re my go-to lunch when I haven’t brought anything from home. Other than that, sausage rolls are the most popular, but I think everyone has their own favourite when they walk through the door. I love hearing what everyone has to say and what everyone’s favourite item is.
“We make almost everything conceivable from a bakery and put as much care and attention into each product.”

If you are looking to try the award-winning mince pies or something else in CJ’s Bakery’s fantastic lineup before Christmas, they’ll be open until Saturday, 21st December and will reopen on Wednesday, January 8th.
However, their Fruit Mince Pies are available for sale at the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre, right though until 31st December this year.
