Brazilian supermodel and Harper’s Bazaar’s 2025 Global Icon of the Year, Alessandra Ambrosio, has stunned at last week’s Golden Globes x Red Sea Film Festival Awards in South Australian Couture House Paolo Sebastian.

Alessandra wore a beautiful piece from Paolo Sebastian’s 2025-2026 Autumn/Winter Couture Collection, Scattered to the Winds. The dress was a beige crinkle silk chiffon draped gown with dégradé tassels and threadwork floral embroidery. The intricate floral details, in pale pinks and greens, shaped the bust and asymmetrical waist.

“Alessandra is an icon; it is always so surreal to see our gowns on a global stage. We are also extremely thrilled to get to do this all from Adelaide,” shared Creative Director and Designer, Paul Vasileff.

Dressed by celebrity stylist and frequent collaborator of Alessandra, Heather Smith, the look was complete with her signature golden waves, glowy makeup, dark nails and nude shoes.

The Scattered to the Winds collection draws inspiration from an heiress escaping her humdrum fate. The collection is a tribute to the power of freedom, the bravery of choice and the beauty of claiming what rightfully belongs.

The collection features neutral tones like green, burgundy, pink, brown and blue, with lots of jewels, lace and tulle. Designs ranged from Christmas party-ready mini dresses in pale colours with lots of sparkle and long fitted gowns in rich tones with embossed bodices to extravagant gowns ready to grace red carpets around the world and sheer pieces with beading and frills.

Just like the name suggests, these pieces look perfectly windswept and whimsical, and follow the signature style of Paolo Sebastian and its Creative Director, Adelaide’s own Paul Vasileff.

Paul described the collection as a sartorial escape and a poetic ode to freedom, reflecting a heroine breaking away from her prescribed fate and stepping into a life entirely her own. “There’s something seductive about this idea of packing our bags and leaving everything we know behind. I think it speaks to something inside all of us, this deeply human quality to imagine a better place and feel limitless in our potential,” shared Paul.

“This collection is less ‘princess’, more undone in its beauty. It’s raw rather than refined, with an almost chaotic coming together of curve-hugging contours, dynamic movement and barely-there straps,” he explained. “It’s what I imagine our heroine takes with her as she flees into the night.”

The Golden Globes x Red Sea Film Festival was held on December 11th in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The awards honoured global cinema icons and industry leaders at a glamorous gala dinner, with a focus on artistry, culture, and Saudi Arabia’s expanding role as a spot for film and creativity.

Jomana Al-Rashid, Chairwoman of the Red Sea Film Foundation, shared, “As we continue to celebrate five years as a Foundation, we’re proud to be further cementing the Red Sea IFF’s position as a platform for filmmakers to achieve global recognition.

“For the first time, we are partnering with the Golden Globes – in a collaboration which carries special meaning and deepens international visibility for the remarkable talent rising from the Arab world, Asia, and Africa. It reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that our filmmakers receive the recognition—and the reach—that their work truly deserves.”

Alessandra Ambrosio’s appearance was a reminder of Paolo Sebastian’s place on the global couture stage. As South Australian design continues to shine at the world’s most prestigious events, moments like this not only celebrate fashion, but also the artistry, ambition and creative vision coming out of Adelaide, proving once again that local talent can command international attention.
