Whistler Wines to host 18th Stew and Shiraz event this June

Whistler Wines will warm up the Barossa Valley this June Long weekend with its famous Stew and Shiraz event

The weather might be cool, but things are heating up at Barossa Valley’s Whistler Wines as they prepare to host their infamous Stew & Shiraz event.

It’s the biggest event on the Whistler Wines annual calendar. June long weekend (Sunday June 11) is the perfect time to let your hair down, kick up your heels and catch up with friends and family, with all of the essential winter warmers.

Get stuck into a bowl of heart-warming stew served by Vintage Chef Co, washed down with a glass of Whistler shiraz (or any other wine that takes your fancy on the day).

One of Adelaide’s busiest cover bands, the White Keys will add to your warmth, getting you moving with live music for the day.

Mrs Sippy will also be on site serving hot & cold beverages to keep the caffeine levels up and for the non-wine drinkers, Whistler has you covered with beers from local craft legend’s, Ministry of Beer.

Barossa based, Vintage Chef Co have set a menu to warm the whole family, with penne Bolognese with cheese for the kids, a gluten free beef and shiraz stew topped with a gremolata garnish, satay chicken with fried rice, chicken and veg pie and pumpkin and chickpea korma and rice.

Dark chocolate ganache tarts with cream and berries will hit the spot for dessert.

This is a free event and no bookings are required, but due to the popularity of Stew and Shiraz, which is now in its 18th year, organiser’s advise guests to set up early, bring their own tables and chairs and settle in for a family-friendly day out.

Located on Seppeltsfield Road at Stone Well, Whistler is a cellar-door tucked away in native scrub.

In 2020 the relaxing, little cellar door was voted best small cellar door in the Barossa Valley, by Gourmet Traveler Magazine.
