Who Has the Biggest Beard on the Road?

The BeardsThe South Australian musical quartet The Beards, are again hitting the road on what is their largest tour to date.

From April through till mid June Australia’s premier folk rock outfit The Beards will hit the road on their most comprehensive and extensive tour.

The tour will see the group visit every major city in the country including Perth, Brisbane, The Gold Coast, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, Hobart and an extravagant array of rural towns on the way, ensuring that no rock is unturned in an effort to spread the word about the bearded way.

2009 was a stellar year for the Beards as they saw the release of their Second full length album “Beards, Beards, Beards” and the single “If your Dad doesn’t have a Beard, You’ve got Two Mums” which received air play nationally on Triple J and reached number 26 of Brisbane’s 4ZzZ’s hot 100.

The video for “If your Dad doesn’t have a Beard, You’ve got Two Mums” gained in excess of 100,00 views on Youtube, this accompanied with press Australia wide including The Australian newspaper and Channel 7’s Sunrise ensured that 2009 was a highly successful year for The Beards.

Adding to all of this was the World Beard and Moustache championships in Alaska, early last year where the Beards became the first ever Australian contingent to compete at the championships.

The Beards are sure to create a stir, yet again within the Australian bearded and musical community when their tour rolls across the Australian country, in an effort to transform Australia into the bearded capital of the world.

“The most rewarding moments came from a hirsute foursome called the Beards… …but there was no escaping the best song of the night, If Your Dad Has No Beard You’ve Got Two Mums.” – Iain Shedden , The Australian

“Within a song they had won the people over, and by the end of their spot the punters were going crazy. It’s a great idea, the songs are excellent and they can really play their instruments. The Beards played the main stage of the Forum like they really belonged there.” – Scott Edgar , Tripod
