Knowing how to perform first aid is a valuable skill that can save lives, especially when you’re out camping or bushwalking, and medical help is far away. Luckily, this October, you can improve your skills with a Wilderness First Aid Course in the Barossa Valley.
“The Klepper Training Academy is heading to South Australia to conduct a special Wilderness First Aid Course,” Barossa Outdoors shared on its Facebook page.
“Matt Hale and the team from Barossa Outdoors will be hosting us in the picturesque Williamstown in the famous SA Barossa Valley.
“We are excited to bring our expertise in educating and qualifying outdoor educators and enthusiasts to a new part of the country.”
Klepper’s course is designed for those in the outdoor recreation industry, but is suitable for anyone wanting to improve their first aid skills and prepare for emergencies. The two-day course features interactive workshops and realistic scenario-based exercises to teach you how to handle medical emergencies in remote environments.
Previously offered in Queensland, this course has supported a variety of participants, from archaeologists heading on expeditions, to outdoors people looking to help loved ones.
“The collaboration with Barossa Outdoors is an exciting development allowing us to extend our expertise to South Australia,” Klepper says.
“Thanks to the fantastic team at Barossa Outdoors we now have the opportunity to offer this valuable training to the South Australian community, with potential for more courses in the future.”
There is no age limit for enrolment, but those under 18 will need parental consent. A basic level of fitness is recommended because of the intensive nature of the course, which includes about 22 hours of training over two busy days.
The course takes place on Saturday, October 5th and Sunday, October 6th. It’s an excellent chance to gain valuable first-aid skills while enjoying the great outdoors.
