This Saturday, 30 July Sidewood Wines will be taking part in one of the jewels of the Winter Reds program and settling an age old score (well, at least it’s a question we wonder from time to time) – who does it better? France or the Adelaide Hills?
The competition will play out as a blind tasting to accompany a specially created 5 course dinner by Maximillians Head Chef Jamie Laing. Your host for the evening will also be Sidewood’s Winemaker Darryl Caitlin. Imagine what would happen if he lost that night?! No pressure to pick them guys. But that’s not the only thing Sidewood are putting on as part of the Winter Reds weekend. Across the two days you’ll have the opportunity to not only try their award winning range of red, white, sparkling and cider at their cellar door in front of roaring open fires, but for $10, a very special five wine tasting from their museum, rare back vintages that are hadly ever available to try, will be on offer. On top of that there will be a fashion competition, live DJs, their a la carte and casual bar menu available to nibble and their iconic ‘Hole In One’ competition will be on once again, where $10 will get you 10 balls to try and nail the shot on that damn golf green in the middle of the dam. If you manage, you’ll take home a $2k prize pack worth of wine and restaurant vouchers (double the usual value!). Either take a crack before you drink or after a couple of glasses. It doesn’t get any easier no matter when you try!
