Winemaker Jack ‘the Ripper’ Tomich unleashes a bold new Pinot label that’s cheeky, disruptive and enticing

Fourth-generation winegrower Jack Tomich has launched Devil Made Pinot, a new Adelaide Hills wine label celebrating premium cool-climate Pinot with a rebellious style.

A devilishly bold new wine label has arrived in the Adelaide Hills, and it’s on a mission to prove that serious Pinot Noir doesn’t have to take itself too seriously.

Created by fourth-generation winegrower Jack “The Ripper” Tomich, Devil Made Pinot is a new small-batch wine brand dedicated entirely to cool-climate Pinot, combining premium Adelaide Hills fruit with a serious serving of personality and attitude.

Built around a philosophy of authenticity and meticulous winemaking, every bottle is made exclusively from Adelaide Hills-grown fruit, a point of pride for Jack, who says the region’s reputation deserves to be protected.

“The wine industry can take itself a little too seriously,” says Jack. “Devil Made Pinot is about exceptional wine, but it’s also about having fun.

“We wanted a brand with personality, attitude and a genuine obsession with Pinot. And frankly, we’re sick
of imposters riding the Adelaide Hills reputation while sourcing grapes from elsewhere. Every drop here is the real deal.”

The first collection features the Devil Made Pinot Noir 2025, Devil Made Pinot Gris 2025 and Devil Made Sparkling Pinot Noir NV, each showcasing the region’s cool-climate character.

The range also includes two ultra-limited premium releases. Fallen Angel 667 and Devil’s Share MV6 focus on individual Pinot Noir clones and single-vineyard parcels, highlighting the subtle differences that can emerge from specific vineyard sites and vine selections.

The launch reflects Jack’s passion for crafting expressive wines that stay true to the Adelaide Hills while breaking away from traditional wine branding.

Every aspect of the label, from vineyard to bottle, has been created to deliver wines of exceptional quality without losing sight of what wine is ultimately about. Devil Made Pinot embraces a simple philosophy of creating wines that are enjoyable, approachable and made with genuine care.

The brand’s playful slogan, “The Devil is in the Details,” captures that balance between meticulous craftsmanship and a willingness to have a little fun along the way.

For Jack, it’s about creating wines that remain true to their origins while encouraging people to simply enjoy what’s in the glass. After all, when it comes to great Pinot, the devil really is in the details.
