A gorgeous, rushing waterfall, five courses of delectable food matched with the perfect wines… we’re pretty sure this sounds like the best way to spend a wintery night. Utopia @ Waterfall Gully is hosting this wine degustation alongside the winemaking legends from Grounded Cru.
As the nation’s only restaurant set beside a natural waterfall, stone chalet Utopia is a unique, unforgettable place to spend an evening. This event will give guests the opportunity to indulge in five incredible courses, matched wines, and an intimate ‘meet the maker’ opportunities with the winemakers and chefs.
Geoff Thompson from the Grounded Cru team will also be in attendance to talk all things relating to their range of wines.
You’ll kick the night off with a series of gourmet canapés served with Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir Chardonnay Sparkling NV, followed by your first entrée of seared chicken and chestnut boudin blanc sausage with crisp pancetta, potato crisp, shallots, shiitake mushrooms and port jus, served with Inc Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir 2016.
The second entrée features pressed pork shoulder on parmesan polenta with roasted beetroot veloute, parsnip crisp and beetroot dust, served with McLaren Vale Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre (GSM) 2016, before the pièce de résistance.
The main course of braised beef cheek and quince pie with medallion of fillet, buttered peas, charred leek and shiraz jus is served with Inc McLaren Vale Shiraz 2016 and Inc McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2016.
And, of course, no night is fully complete without a dessert. On this particular night, you’ll top off an already delicious meal with steamed apple and rhubarb pudding with pistachio and rosewater ice cream, candied cashews and rhubarb syrup, served with McLaren Vale Grenache Rosé 2018.
