Winter Gin Launches To Warm Your Cold, Cold Heart

The Inglewood Inn has teamed up with Applewood Distillery to release the ideal drink to get us through the cold nights. Said drink is WINTER GIN.

It’s chilly today. The wind is icy, and as soon as I stepped out of the house in a skirt and light jumper combo, I knew I’d made a serious mistake. Unfortunately, it was too late to turn back (yes, I am aware that we are in Adelaide, not Antarctica). The point is, it’s cold, so I was very excited to learn about Inglewood’s brand new Winter Gin, perfect for keeping us warm in the colder months.

To celebrate World Gin Day, and after the success of last year’s Pear Gin, the team at Inglewood Inn has teamed up with Applewood Distillery to release the ideal drink to get us through the cold nights. Said drink is this marvellous WINTER GIN.

The first question I had: when/where/how can I get my hands on this gin? Safe to say, the answer was not 9am in the Glam Adelaide office. The launch of Winter Gin aligns with WORLD GIN DAY (8 June), and is set to take place at Inglewood Inn.

Kicking off at 5pm, entry to the launch is free. Expect live music, drink specials all night, and of course, the utterly delicious Winter Gin. The crew from Applewood will be taking over Inglewood’s beer deck to talk all things gin-making whilst whipping up a multitude of cocktails.

The Winter Gin features warm spices, mandarin, hints of pepper berry and vanilla. Drink it neat, pair with tonic or add to a hot cocktail to bring out some of the delicious spices. Inglewood and Applewood want us to know that gin isn’t exclusively a summer drink. It can be equally enjoyable by a roaring fireplace, or in the midst of a nice, warm dance floor. Stock will be super limited, so if you’re in love with the delicious warm, spiciness, be sure to grab a bottle on the night.

As far as food goes, Alberto’s Catering will be firing up their hot coals and cooking up a delicious charcoal BBQ, available on the beer deck.

Limited spots will also be available in the restaurant for a dine-in dinner. To snag a spot, the Inglewood team suggest booking ahead as their normal menu won’t available on the beer deck.

You can find the Inglewood Inn (and their Winter Gin) at 1931 North East Road, Inglewood SA.
