There’s a rush on for solar and battery installations across Adelaide, and for good reason. The Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries rebate reduces from 1 January, and most reputable companies are already booked solid for 2025. But one local family business has come up with a way to help South Australians lock in this year’s rebate, without the pressure.
Without the current 2025 solar rebate some households will miss out on potentially thousands of dollars in savings, but not with Unified Solar Solutions new customer promise.
Carley Romeo, co-founder of Unified Solar Solutions says, the problem is there simply aren’t enough skilled electricians to keep up with demand.
“It’s a bit of a bloodbath out there. Everyone’s calling around trying to find installers. We’re getting phone calls from competitors asking if we can do installs for them.”
“There just aren’t enough qualified electricians, and everyone’s scrambling.”

To keep things fair for families trying to make a smart decision, South Australians need to know that Unified Solar Solutions has introduced what they call a Price Protection Guarantee.
“What we’re offering at the moment is simple,” Carley says.
“Any customer quoted this year will have their rebate honoured, even if installation falls into early 2026. It’s about giving families confidence and peace of mind, not pressure.”
It’s a promise that’s written into their contracts and one that’s helping customers move forward with confidence.
“We don’t believe in pressure sales. We’d rather be transparent and make things easy for people to understand.”
That transparency extends to their installations too. Unlike many operators, every Unified system is checked and approved by a qualified electrician before final pricing is sent to the customer.
“We’re very thorough,” Carley explains.
“Our salespeople take detailed photos on site. Those get uploaded for our electricians to review. We check things like the switchboard, the distance for cabling, and make sure everything’s safe and compliant before we go ahead.”
That care, she says, is what keeps customers coming back and recommending them to friends.
“We’re a family helping other families. We’ve built this business on honesty, not shortcuts. The person selling the job isn’t some fly-by-night contractor. We’ve been doing this for years, and safety is everything.”
Carley says one of the simplest ways South Australians can make sure they’re dealing with a reputable company is to check accreditation.
“Families should always choose an installer accredited under the New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC),” she says.
“It’s a national program that audits solar retailers and holds us to strict standards. We get checked, we pay to be members, and we have to meet clear rules around safety and honesty. It’s how customers can tell we’re the real deal.”

“These batteries are powerful. Installed wrong, they can cause fires. You want someone who knows exactly what they’re doing.”
For those who already have solar, Carley says now is still the smartest time to add a battery.
“Gone are the days when you made good money selling excess solar back to the grid,” she explains. “Feed-in tariffs have dropped to around two cents per kilowatt-hour, and some states are even exploring charges for exporting solar.”
That’s why, she says, storing your own energy is now a no-brainer.
“With help from the Government rebate, you can harness the excess power your panels produce during the day and use it at night when electricity is most expensive. It’s how homeowners can take real control of their energy, slash bills, and stay powered through blackouts.”
To qualify for the rebate, customers must either already have solar or be installing solar alongside a battery. The rebate applies to batteries between 5kWh and 50kWh and is not available for standalone battery purchases.
Those eligible include residential and business customers who haven’t previously claimed the rebate — whether they’re adding a battery, upgrading their solar, or expanding an existing setup.
“For example, if you installed a battery before May this year, that system isn’t eligible for the new rebate,” Carley says. “But if you add extra battery modules to increase your storage, those new additions can qualify — helping you make the most of the Government support while boosting your savings.”

How much can families save?
“It depends on your usage and the size of your battery,” she says.
“Some customers are seeing their $500 quarterly bills drop dramatically. Óthers are powering their homes almost entirely from their own solar and battery for most of the year. It’s about tailoring the system to your home, your budget, and your goals.”
Unified Solar’s message is clear.
“If you’ve been thinking about it, now is the time. Don’t wait until January when everyone’s booked out again. Lock in your rebate, get your system scheduled, and know that you’re getting a fair deal.”
As Carley puts it, “We’re not the cheapest. We’re the most trusted. And we’ll stand by our word.”
