Emerging Indigenous rappers DEM MOB will head to South Australia for a fun night of food, drinks and music during the Tasting Australia presented by RAA Travel festival.
DEM MOB hail from South Australia’s Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjantjara Lands, sharing their stories, struggles, culture and country in a powerful mix of Pitjantjatjara and English. The trio will perform at the Tasting Australia event, Uni Days, on Saturday 29 April fresh from an epic WOMADelaide appearance last month.
They will be joined on stage by Yolngu six-piece surf rock band King Stingray, who gained a cult following being named 2021 Triple J Unearthed Artist of the Year and were recently heralded as Rolling Stone Australia’s Best New Artist for 2022.
Uni Days is a celebration of delicious food, quality drinks and live music, featuring a range of Asian-inspired dishes highlighting fresh South Australian produce curated by University of Adelaide graduate Adam Liaw.
Liaw is one of Australia’s favourite cooks and holder of University of Adelaide degrees in law and science. Eventgoers can expect stalls of Asian-inspired fare featuring the freshest South Australian produce, plus the chance to chat with Liaw as he calls in at each.
“As an Adelaidean who attended the University of Adelaide, it is amazing to be coming back for Tasting Australia – I experienced so many great parties during my time at uni, Uni Days will feel like I am rekindling my youth,” said Mr Liaw.
“People can expect to taste food I love to cook at home, made with beautiful South Australian produce. Many of the dishes will highlight indigenous ingredients – these flavours go so well with Asian cuisine. This event is set to be a night to remember!”
