If you’re looking to impress Mum this Mother’s Day with a gift that’s out of the box, Woodhouse Adventure Park has just the thing.
The Adelaide Hills adventure park is launching its very first Grounded Wellbeing Day Retreat this May, offering guests a full day of relaxation, creativity, and reconnection in one of South Australia’s most beautiful natural settings. Held on Sunday, May 24th, the intimate retreat is designed to help attendees slow down, switch off, and take a much-needed breather from the chaos of everyday life. And honestly, what Mum wouldn’t want that?

Located at Woodhouse’s sprawling 54-hectare natural wonderland, Grounded is the evolution of the park’s growing wellbeing offering, following the success of its programs for schools and corporate groups.
“Wellbeing has always been deeply embedded in the Woodhouse experience,” shared Woodhouse’s Marketing & Business Development Manager, Nicole Wood. “Simply being outdoors, moving your body, and connecting with others in nature naturally supports both mental and physical wellbeing.
“Over the past 12 months, we’ve expanded this focus by introducing dedicated wellbeing programs for educators and corporate groups. Seeing the impact of those experiences made it clear there was an opportunity to offer something similar to the wider community.”

So after seeing the impact of their existing wellbeing programs, launching a retreat for the wider community felt like a natural next step. The result is a thoughtfully designed experience for anyone looking for a little more calm. Busy mums, overworked professionals, wellness beginners, or anyone simply in need of a reset will feel right at home.
“The Grounded Wellbeing Day Retreat is designed as an accessible entry point for anyone looking to slow down, reconnect, and reset. Led by highly experienced wellbeing professionals, it allows people to step away from the pace of everyday life and experience the benefits of nature in a more intentional, supported way. Woodhouse is uniquely suited to this. Its expansive natural setting creates an immediate sense of calm and perspective, making it the perfect environment for people to reconnect not only with nature, but with themselves.”
The day unfolds with a series of restorative experiences curated to nourish both body and mind. Guests can take part in a botanical relief printing workshop led by acclaimed Adelaide Hills artist Cathy Gray from Inkwork, settle into a guided mindfulness session, reflect through journaling, and stretch out in a beginner-friendly yin yoga class.
There’ll also be plenty of time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, with seasonal meals crafted from fresh local produce also included throughout the day.
Of all the experiences, one of the standouts will be the hands-on botanical relief printing workshop, where guests can create their own take-home artwork inspired by the natural beauty surrounding them.
“What I’ve seen through these retreats is how quickly women form genuine, meaningful connections. They share, laugh, and sometimes cry—and in that space, real friendships begin. For many, simply taking time for themselves and leaving with a supportive, like-minded community is one of the most valuable outcomes,” said Megan Collins, Wellbeing & Events Coordinator at Woodhouse Adventure Park.
Whether you’re booking for yourself, planning a mother-daughter day out, or treating Mum to some well-earned solo time, Grounded offers a rare chance to pause and reconnect.
“We see it as both,” shared Nicole. “It’s a beautiful opportunity for a mother and daughter to spend meaningful time together, away from the usual distractions of everyday life. At the same time, it also makes a thoughtful and considered gift, offering Mum the chance to step away for a full day and focus entirely on herself.”

Unlike Woodhouse’s corporate and school programs, this retreat is entirely centred on the individual. There are no deadlines, no responsibilities, and absolutely no inbox notifications.
“While our school and corporate programs are designed within the context of work or education, the Grounded Wellbeing Day Retreat is entirely centred on the individual,” Nicole said. “It’s a dedicated day for people to step away from their usual roles and responsibilities, and instead focus on rest, reflection, and recharging. There’s no agenda beyond supporting personal wellbeing.”
Guests will leave feeling refreshed, grounded, and, hopefully, take a little bit of that calm back into everyday life. With places intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate and personalised, early bookings are strongly recommended.
