Ingle Farm is set to welcome a huge new community playspace, with the City of Salisbury revealing plans for an accessible, nature-inspired destination designed to become one of the area’s biggest family attractions.
The project forms part of the broader Woodland Walk development, the City of Salisbury’s biggest residential project, which is bringing 220 new homes to the Walkleys Road Corridor site in Ingle Farm.
Designed around liveability and sustainability, Woodland Walk will offer a combination of housing options while integrating with the existing character of the suburb. The development is focused on creating a greener, more connected neighbourhood, with recycled materials, smart water management, increased green spaces and links to Salisbury’s recycled water network.
It has also achieved 6-Star Green Star Communities Certification, the highest rating awarded by the Green Building Council of Australia, making it South Australia’s first fully residential development to achieve the certification. The project will also feature new streetscapes, shared pathways and accessible open spaces designed to encourage walking, recreation and community connection.
The new Baloo Playspace will be built on Baloo Street alongside the Woodland Walk residential development on Walkleys Road, creating a shared recreational space for new and existing residents, as well as the wider community.
The playspace has been shaped by community feedback gathered during consultation in 2024 and will cater to children and visitors of all ages and abilities.
Families can look forward to a mix of active, imaginative and nature-based play experiences, with plans including a tower centrepiece, a flying fox, interactive play equipment and musical features designed to encourage exploration and creativity.
The space won’t just be for younger children, either. The plans include a basketball hoop, a netball ring, and open grassed areas that will offer plenty of recreational opportunities. At the same time, an outdoor amphitheatre creates space for community gatherings, performances and events.
The new park will also feature shaded shelters, BBQ facilities, seating throughout the site and public toilets, making it an easy destination for everything from quick afternoon play sessions to full family picnics.
Councillor Lauren Brug shared that the Baloo Playspace is “a major investment in our community, funded through proceeds from the Woodland Walk development, ensuring those funds are reinvested back into facilities for residents to enjoy.Â
“This is going to be an amazing addition to Ingle Farm, giving families another fantastic place to play, exercise, relax and connect.”
Phase 1 civil works of Woodland Walk and construction on Baloo Playspace are planned to commence in late 2026. Once complete, it is sure to become one of the City of Salisbury’s top destinations.
