Woolworths is returning as the naming rights sponsor of the 69th Carols by Candlelight.

Singing sensation Samantha Jade and pop group The Collective will headline the entertainment at this year’s Woolworths Carols by Candlelight, to be held on Sunday 15 December in Elder Park.

Since winning The X Factor in 2012, Samantha Jade has enjoyed chart-topping success and has just released her new single ‘Soldier’. She will also play Kylie Minogue in the mini-series ‘Never Tear Us Apart: the Untold Story of INXS, to be aired in early 2014.

Five-member boy band The Collective has released several singles and a mini-album since finishing third in the 2012 season of the show.

The popular artists are among several acts that will perform during the main concert starting at 8.00pm, following community carols at 6.30pm.

South Australia’s largest community Christmas concert, Woolworths Carols by Candlelight is proudly presented by the Adelaide City Council and The Advertiser, sponsored by 7, Mix 102.3, Cruise 1323, and Eveready.

Entry is by a folded note donation with all proceeds supporting the Cora Barclay Centre, Novita Children’s Services and the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Carols by Candlelight chair Michael Forwood said the hallmark event would again bring around 30,000 people together to enjoy a fantastic program of top entertainment and family-friendly activities, including a fireworks finale.

“This much loved South Australian event attracts people from across the state and for many, is part of their annual Christmas tradition,” Mr Forwood said.

“At the heart of this year’s event is the new ‘Spirit of Giving’ campaign that will support the work of the three nominated charities in making a real difference in the lives of children and their families throughout the year.”
