It’s no secret that we here at Glam Adelaide love a market, so you can only believe our excitement when we heard about the newest artisan fair to hit our city.
Sponsored by the City of Adelaide and the Adelaide Economic Development Agency, The Pennington Gardens Market is the newest venture from the team behind Sparkling Red Events and they’re back again with more stalls, activities and music than ever before at their stunning location in North Adelaide.
Nestled between two Adelaide icons, Adelaide Oval and The Cathedral, Pennington Gardens Market will boast an array of artisan stalls showcasing the very best of South Australian wares. All 70 stallholders are SA locals with the market organisers striving to support and promote small businesses and those just starting out.

The ladies behind the event, Jayne Porter and Rachael Von Einem began running markets together two years ago with the sole purpose of supporting new businesses and giving them a platform to promote their unique creations.
After the success of their previous ventures, H58 Market and Gaol Road Market, the pair decided to expand and make this time round more than just a market.
“We are really keen for people to come with their picnic rug and settle in for the day, shopping, eating and listening to live music,” says Jayne.
The music on offer will be the acoustic sounds of Ruby Travis and Jordan D’Sena – both talented Adelaide musicians who are sure to set the scene for the day.
There will also be more of a focus on food compared to the H58 and Gaol Road Markets. With 10 food vans to choose from, there is sure to be something for even the fussiest of eaters.

And for all you early birds, you can work up an appetite by taking part in a fitness class run by a local studio, Roaming Zen. Beginning at 10 am the team will run you through ‘The b.class” – a new workout to Australia that is currently only offered in Adelaide. It’s a combination of cardio and athletic movement combined with powerful music to create connection, it’s intended to help you feel not only physically stronger but mentally also. Come along and ‘b’ you, with part of the proceeds going to Catherine House Foundation – Book here
So, pop this one in your diaries and lock yourself in for a day in the stunning parklands that is Pennington Gardens. Dogs are welcome (just please bring a lead and a poop bag!) and picnic rugs are encouraged.
Pennington Gardens Market will take place on Sunday 27 March from 10am – 3pm
