Internationally recognised DJ and ardent motor racing fan Carl Cox will compete at The Dragway at The Bend in the Riverbend Nationals on April 5-7. Competing under the Carl Cox Motorsport banner, his spectacular Ford Capri will be on show throughout the weekend in the Top Sportsman category.

Based in Australia since the start of the millennium, Cox maintains a demanding schedule that sees him touring globally as a DJ. A break in his DJing commitments has conveniently allowed him to perform before South Australian fans at The Dragway at The Bend for the first time.

This event presents a golden opportunity for the fans who will get to see Carl Cox Motorsport in action over the course of the event. Upon revealing his participation to his fans via a video message on The Bend’s social media, Carl Cox provided a captivating glimpse into his plans for the event.

“I’ll be bringing down my Capri Twin Turbo to The Bend for the first time. My class is going to be Top Sportsman so look out for car number 6209,” remarked Carl Cox.

Effervescent about his prospects, Carl Cox said, “We’re really looking to run some good numbers down there and be competitive, but it looks like we’re going to have a lot of fun. So I’m going to be down there, Come and join us, Carl Cox Motorsports/Carl Cox Drag Racing. We’re going to be down and representing Top Sportsman and We’re going to have a lot of fun”.

Cox’s participation adds to the impressive list of stars slated to participate in the Racing Nationals. Just last week, it was established that Charlie Dixon and Lachie Jones from the Port Adelaide Football Club will take part in an exhibition grudge race on the concluding Sunday.

Alistair MacDonald, CEO of the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend, expressed his excitement about welcoming yet another motorsport identity to the park. MacDonald commented, “After hosting Global F1 commentator “Crofty’ here at the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park last week it’s fantastic to have another well-known motorsport identity in Carl Cox enjoying The Bend.”

“Carl is another huge addition to the event for the fans and to have him actually competing here with his team is great for South Australia,” added MacDonald.

The April Riverbend Nationals coincides with the AFL Gather Round weekend and anticipates a return of the ‘kings of Drag Racing ‘Top Fuel’. The last time a ‘Top Fuel’ event was held at The Bend in October, more than 22,000 people attended, suggesting another massive turnout for the upcoming event.

Tickets for The Riverbend Nationals are on sale now on The events start from $30 for adults, with kids under 15 enjoying free entry. The South Australian Government supports the event through the South Australian Tourism Commission.
