Xavier Rudd announces Barossa tour date for upcoming tour

Australian singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, Xavier Rudd, has announced his upcoming 2022 tour in celebration of his upcoming album.

Australian singer-songwriter and instrumentalist, Xavier Rudd, has announced his upcoming 2022 ‘Jan Juc Moon’ tour, in celebration of the release of his forthcoming 10th studio album of the same name.

Xavier Rudd is one of Australia’s most iconic voices, not only an extremely talented singer and songwriter but also an instrumentalist, surfer, and activist.

Xavier’s 10th studio album ‘Jan Juc Moon’ is out on March 25, featuring the familiar folk music his fans love but with new experimental elements including an analogue synthesiser which can be heard throughout.

‘Jan Juc Moon’ the album focuses on the recurring image of wind blowing through wide-open spaces and the natural elements that shape it. The album’s imagery showcases the wind as a force greater than us, but ours to harness if we take the time to learn and respect its ways.

“We were on a trip north to the Cape and the wind was blowing too hard to take the tinnie out to the island… as I contemplated everything in my life and what was happening in the world there was literally a strong southeaster blowing, all the time. It felt like a wind of change, literally, in so many ways,” Xavier said on his writing process for the album.

The wide-open space Xavier found himself in during Covid was beyond his control. But he found control in his solo creative space, and the solitude only accelerated his return to the songwriting process and the creation of the album and tour.

“[I’m] very excited to get out on the road and share this new record and live show that I’ve been working on. Australia first and then back out in the big wide world, the world needs music and I’m ready to share,” Xavier said.

The tour will be coming to the Barossa Arts Centre on June 24 this year. Tickets are available now at https://barossaarts.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/40459
