Taylors Wines To Celebrate 50 Years With Luxurious Long Table Dinner

Throughout the year, Taylors Wines will be celebrating in a variety of fashions, with two of the biggest events taking place over the Clare Valley Gourmet Weekend Festival this month.

2019 heralds a momentous milestone for Taylors Wines. The family-owned winery is celebrating 50 years since Bill Taylor Snr. and his sons first established their estate in the Clare Valley wine region. 

To celebrate, there will be a 50th Celebration dinner held at Auburn Institute building in the township of Auburn.

Only a stone’s throw from the winery, the heritage building located on the main street of town and has been used over the years for many local events and gatherings. 

The venue will be dressed elegantly for the dinner, with beautiful historic photography and wine barrels. There will be long table seating with shared platters for lots of mingling.

Having recently undergone renovations, the building is fitted with a proper ‘sprung’ floor, perfect for dancing the night away (after dinner of course!).

We have been given an insight into the menu and let’s just say, it sounds glorious.

There will sparking wine Taylors Estate Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut Cuvee on arrival.

Following this there will be an entrée dish of cured southern fin tuna, miso mayo, fried shallots, ginger, soy and salt and vinegar prawn crackers served with a choice of St. Andrews Riesling or St. Andrews Chardonnay.

For mains, there will be share plates. Think baked greenslade chicken, wunderbar lamb leg and charred broccolini and asparagus. This will of course be paired with a choice of St. Andrews Shiraz or St. Andrews Cabernet Sauvignon.

And let’s not forget to mention dessert. Local honey pana cotta with sweet pickled quince, cinnamon yoghurt and honeycomb. Oh and cheese boards!

The 60 Four will be performing on the night, ensuring that dancing is must.

We should also mention that there will be a free, family-friendly daytime event the following day. The Yeah Baby, We’re 50! party will bring you 60s vibes galore.

The band from Saturday night will be doing an ‘encore’ performance (minus the 9 piece band!) on Sunday at the daytime event.

While the day-time event is outdoors, it will be fire pits going and lots of gas fired heaters.
