Yo-Chi dishing up limited time dessert with Masterchef Judge Darren Purchese

Following a collab with Pierrick Boyer, pastry chef Darren Purchese has now created a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate glaze.

Yo-Chi, one of Australia’s fastest growing frozen yogurt brands, has been collaborating with some of the nation’s hottest dessert chefs to bring delicious bespoke toppings to their frozen treats. This time, renowned pastry chef Darren Purchese is taking centre stage.

Purchese has created a bespoke red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate glaze, which goes on top of one of Yo-Chi’s Coconut, Vanilla or Signature Tart flavoured frozen yogurts.

Rising to the challenge to encourage more Aussies to Share the Chi, his delicious creations will be sure to level-up people’s frozen yogurt game!

The baton was passed on from Pierrick Boyer, who last month created a decadent caramel mud cake. Purchese’s creations, similarly to the previous collaboration, be available in all Yo-Chi stores around the country during the month of September.

Purchese is the founder of Melbourne’s Burch & Purchese Sweet Studio, a laboratory for exquisite and extravagant cakes and desserts. He’s also the author of five cookbooks including Sweet Studio – The Art of Divine Desserts, Lamingtons & Lemon Tart, Chefs Eat Toasties Too, Chefs Host Christmas Too and Chefs Eat Breakfast Too.

The British-born chef is also a regular on our TV screens, most notably as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia. Darren has hundreds of hours of TV experience and hosted many cooking segments across the networks.

Coincidently with the chef collaboration series, Yo-Chi is currently rolling out new stores in the country every month with new stores recently opened in Noosa and on Chapel Street in Melbourne and more are planned to open their doors in the next few months.

Already known for their amazing array of frozen yogurt flavours and a buffet of pick-and-mix toppings, Yo-Chi is upping the boujee and flavour factors with their limited-edition chef collaborations, designed to celebrate local dessert talent – and of course the delights of frozen yogurt.

Darren Purchese’s red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting will be available in all Yo-Chi stores during the month of September.

Future collaborations include Anna Polyviou and Kirsten Tibballs.

Give it a taste this month at one of Yo-Chi’s three South Australian stores:

  • Glenelg – 53 Jetty Road, 5045
  • Norwood – 171A The Parade, 5067
