You’ve probably smelt them before you’ve seen them, across Rundle Mall, a little cart appears most days of the week and it almost always has a line waiting to be served.
We spoke to Lazar, owner, creator and the face of The Creperie Cart about where The Creperie Cart heads when it’s not drawing crowds in the mall.
The easily transportable nature of The Creperie Cart makes it perfect for outdoor (also indoor) private events. The cart has been dragged to anything from small birthdays to huge weddings with Lazar at the helm (and some help from his mum).
Classic crepes like the Nutella option are a staple, but there are others with strawberries and bananas, an interesting cinnamon crepe. The piece de resistance being ‘The Lot’ which heaps crushed biscuits, strawberries and bananas on a bed of Nutella.
If sweets aren’t your calling, no stress, Lazar can whip up a variety of savoury crepes. Popular options include a pizza crepe, spinach and mushroom crepe, and a Glam Adelaide office favourite, the ham and cheese crepe.
Looking for a place to sit and enjoy the gooey goodness would usually means heading to their Grote Street shopfront, but it’s currently undergoing renovations. Lazar has assured us that the Creperie Corner will re-open very soon though.
Till the grand reopening of the Corner, catch Lazar in the mall or at your next event and keep an eye out on their Facebook and Instagram, we’ve been promised huge upcoming news.
