Young Locals Walk To Hahndorf For Oxfam

A group of Adelaide locals are walking the 26kms from Adelaide to Hahndorf to raise money for Oxfam’s East Africa Food Crisis Appeal.

Christina Phung, daughter of a Cambodian refugee who walked for a month to flee the Pol Pot regime. Christina says “I am here today because people helped my dad to escape that atrocity. By walking to Hahndorf I hope to pass on that hope and assistance to the people of East Africa.”

Christina, a 24yo Project officer at SA Health will be joined by Alex Kwong, a 29yo Pharmacist from Adelaide, and students Krya Evanochko, 21 and Melissa Lane, 24.

The group have already raised over $3,000 and hope to increase this total to $5,000. All donations received before 30 November will be matched dollar for dollar by the Australian Government’s AusAid. The group will walk to Hahndorf on Sunday 11 December.
