If you’re looking to see young talent or attend a family-friendly event, these shows might be perfect!
This weekend, young South Australian actors aged 10-21 are staging two family-friendly one-act plays at Holden Street Theatres, thanks to Wings2Fly Theatre. Both shows are suitable for all ages.
The first show, Property Rites, asks what happens when AI and tech comes to life. The second, School of Sharks, is written by Melbourne playwright Jessica Bellamy and looks at young people, mental wellbeing, and respect for the environment.
The performances are at 2pm and 5pm on Saturday and 2pm Sunday (the 5pm Sunday showing is sold out).
Wings2Fly Theatre says that you’ll practically forget the age of the young actors during the show because they’re just that talented.
“There is no exaggeration when we tell you that you will be BLOWN AWAY when you see the shows on the weekend,” the theatre writes.
“Not only will you see two incredible plays, but you will see the raw courage and hard work that goes into being a theatre professional. From the youngest 10 year old to our university students, every one of our actors is pouring their heart and soul into this production.”
Wings2Fly also notes that a ticket purchase not only supports young talent, but it also supports Holden Street Theatres at a time when the arts community needs your help.
“At a time when venues are closing and are threatening to close, we continue to contribute to the vitality of theatre and the Arts Industry in SA,” Holden Street Theatres writes.
“We’re so excited to see these talented kids in action this weekend!”
