It’s World Margarita Day today for those of you that may or may not have a particular affinity for tequila. Find out how to celebrate with our guide.

World Margarita Day on February 22 is like Christmas and a birthday rolled into one, in fact, it might just be my favourite annual holiday.

So, ahead of the day, we’ve whipped up a list in honour of the classic cocktail and highlighted some spots where you can enjoy the legendary mix of lime juice, triple sec and tequila.

Dirty Harry

Bank Street Social

Bank Street Social do an incredible job at capturing the tart authentic flavour of a classic Margarita. Through the use of agave syrup, strained through a stainless-steel shaker packed with ice, the end product is supremely chilled when poured into a coupe glass.

This underground hangout on the side streets of Hindley in the Adelaide CBD is dimly lit, suave and sophisticated, with pizzas on stand-by and candles flickering on tables.

Mia Margarita

Mia Margarita pairs its stunning atmosphere with its signature Mexican menu. Across two floors, there is no corner in which you cannot taste their Margaritas. As Dorothy followed the yellow brick road, you can follow the neon pink signage in order to sample this Henley staple.  

Mia Margarita will be celebrating its namesake with $15 Margs and $5 selected tacos.

Strathmore Hotel

The Strathmore Hotel always hosts its patrons with a warm and elevated dining experience. But The Strath has caught wind of this fabulous day and hopes to bring something new to the Margarita.

Their new offering in the ‘Cadillac Sunset Margarita’ for $16. If it tastes as good as it sounds, then it will definitely be a memorable evening.

German Arms Hotel

Found in the picturesque town of Hahndorf, this local icon doesn’t just have the views going for it. The German Arms Hotel offers the taste of Germany with its signature tasting boards, of which include a selection of cured meats and local cheeses. But schnitzel isn’t the only thing available on this special day.

The German Arms Hotel celebrates their Margarita frozen, shaken or strained. However, their classic Margarita is getting a facelift. Enter the ‘Watermelon Margarita’, for those of you who prefer something a little sweeter.

The Bridgewater Inn

Located amongst the Adelaide Hills, The Bridgewater Inn is the scenic escape that combines a stunning location with delicious traditional pub experience. Suitable for any dietary requirement, their vegan options include; ‘NO Beef Burger’, ‘Roasted Tennessee Style Cauliflower Steak’ and ‘Mushroom Fusilli Pasta’ to name a few. However, their delicious spin on the classic Margarita can be enjoyed by everyone.

The Bridgewater Inn have created a delicacy with their ‘Musk Stick Margaritas’ for the whole of February. Which includes a blend of musk stick tequila, parfait amour, lemon juice and simple syrup. Available shaken or frozen.

The Crown Inn

This Old Reynella gem is home to its bistro which includes a myriad of pub classics and its family friendly environment.

Getting in on the act, The Crown Inn will be celebrating World Margarita Day by running $15 Margaritas all day.

Tequila n Tacos

Tequila n Tacos are no stranger to the delights of the Margarita. Their authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex menu houses favourites such as nachos, burritos, quesadillas, chimichangas, fajitas and enchiladas. Located in Port Noarlunga, Tequila n Tacos provides a refreshing flavour to the beachside suburb.

With the cocktail’s star ingredient in the name, there is no doubt that their signature Margaritas will be on show to celebrate today.

Perfect for a possible companion of a Fringe show, Italy Café will be doing four types of Margaritas! The Classic Margarita, Tommy’s Margarita, Chilli Margarita and a Limonata Margarita Jug.
