Another month, another slew of new bars. Adelaide’s drinking game might be STRONG, but can you keep up? Our livers are already screaming for lemon water and detox days and we haven’t even hit the onslaught of Christmas parties. Brace yourself people. In addition to the 18 new venues that popped up in ol’ Rads in October, this November we had 1 newbies on the scene. We’ve also included the sneaky few that are opening in a few days (so technically December) but are worth a mention. Here’s the list.

1. Roxies, Adelaide CBD

It’s the reincarnation of Superfish and Little Miss Everything (think Miami, Mexico etc), and it’s coming to a Summer near you. This lush outdoor garden bar is filled with plants and happy thoughts, and ready for your balmy Adelaide nights. More details here.

2. NEON Bar, Adelaide Riverbank

The prime location of the old Adelaide Festival Theatre restaurant, right on the Riverbank, has been transformed for our partying pleasure. With epic views over the Torrens, Adelaide Oval and the Footbridge, this indoor/outdoor space is made for Summer. A great idea for pre-cricket drinks, sunset cocktails on the terrace overlooking the water, or pre-theatre eats, NEON is one pop-up we don’t want to see close! More details here.

3. Home Ground, Adelaide Riverbank

More than a new venue, Home Ground is a new Riverbank hub! It comprises of a bunch of new venues Goodbuns Diner, Sage Delicatessen, Home Ground Bar, and a few special little pop ups, including their Home Ground Summer Pop-Up.

3. Goodbuns Diner is open for lunch and dinner daily, offering a modern twist on Americana classic favourites including burgers, hot dogs, southern fried chicken, slow-cooked beef brisket and more.

4. Sage Delicatessen is the venue our brunch dreams are made of. Using local produce to tempt us with smashed avo, chia pods, poké bowls and more!

5. Home Ground Bar is also open for The Ashes! Pouring from an extensive beverage list complemented by the necessary bar snacks, it’s the place to stop at the bottom of the Adelaide Convention Centre!

6. Home Ground Summer Pop-Up is open daily from 2 December to 6 December, 10am till late, and will provide the ultimate ‘chill’ zone with shaded lounge areas, food trucks, bars, nightly entertainment and all the sporting action live on a big screen! More details here.

7. Mr Cheese, Adelaide CBD

If you love Japanese style Cheesecakes, this is the place for you! This Hindley Street bakery is serving up some pretty delicious baked goods, just in time for us to ditch the diets. More details here.

8. Backyard Cricket Pontoon (BYC), Adelaide Riverbank

The pontoon on the Torrens River has been repurposed for The Ashes! This floating bar will have cricket nets, DJs, bars and views galore, while food trucks will be alongside it on the riverbank to curb your hunger while you celebrate the start of Summer! More details here.

9. Urban Beach, Adelaide Riverbank

Pinky Flat is coming alive this Summer! Another Riverbank destination for your partying pleasure. With tonnes of sand shipped in, you can kick back in your beach hut, wiggle your toes in the sand, and drink cocktails, while your mates play beach sports like volleyball and more. Or you can just soak up the sunshine and enjoy. More details here. 

10. Adelaide’s First Pop-Up Whisky Bar, Maylands

Whilst technically a one-day affair, it’s still a new whisky bar so we thought we’d throw this into the mix. Featuring over 150 whiskies at the December 2nd event, if you’re a fan, you need to be here. More details here.

11. Pimm’s Bar, Adelaide Riverbank

The Adelaide Casino has reinvented the area off Station Lane once again, this time into a Pimm’s Bar! The fabulous little nook is themed to the hilt, and has incredible Pimm’s on offer, alongside a full bar. DJ decks complete the picture, with good times guaranteed. Read more here.

12. Bobaz T, Adelaide CBD

The third venue for Bobaz T has popped up in James Place – to bring us refreshing teas just in time for Summer! With more traditional bubble tea, and some great refreshing fruity combos, it’s no wonder these drinks are a cult sensation! Read more here.

13. Treasury 1860, Adelaide CBD

With its launch tonight, the revamped Treasury 1860 bar and restaurant on King William Street is heaven on a stick. They’ve renovated heavily, bringing back the glory days of the heritage building, whilst still making it modern and comfortable. And the food? It’s to die for. 14. Hola Pop Up Bar, Henley Beach

If you just can’t wait for all the new venues to open in Henley this December, Hola has you covered. The beach-themed pop up bar complete with palm trees and Zooper Doopers is here to bring that Summer vibe to your afternoons and evenings. Read more here. 

15. Salem Cafe, Ascot Park

A new plant based cafe in Ascot Park has opened from the OG mind of Two-Bit Villains! Offering a wide variety of sandwiches with a side of house-cut and seasoned crisps. There’s something for literally everyone on this menu; vegans, gluten-free, low fodmap, meat lovers and picky eaters! Read more here.

16. The General Wine Bar & Kitchen, McLaren Vale

Two of South Australia’s leading and popular wine buffs are celebrating the best of food and wine with a new style of restaurant in McLaren Vale, The General Wine Bar & Kitchen. Big hearted Mr. Riggs winemaker, Ben Riggs has paired up with vigneron and co-owner of Zonte’s Footsteps, Brad Rey to bring a new and authentic wine and food offering to the Fleurieu. Read more here.

17. Port Admiral Hotel, Port Adelaide

After sitting empty for ten years, the Port Admiral Hotel is once more! A fab beer garden, their own brew, a tidy refurb and a great bar menu is set to bring this venue back to life. Read more here.

18. Emma Hack Art & Wine Bar, Adelaide CBD

Iconic Adelaide artist Emma Hack has taken her love for wine and art, and combined them in a clever way. This Renewal Adelaide project lets Emma showcase various artists at the venue, whilst funding the costs it from sales over the bar. Each month different wine makers will have their vino for sale, and there’s also some pretty tasty platter options. Read more here.

19. Cactus, Kangaroo Island

Owners, Louis Lark and Yen Aun Leow, have taken their experience at the prestigious Southern Ocean Lodge and joined forces to open a vibrant cafe/restaurant, Cactus. Cactus is now open for breakfast and lunch. Read more here.

21. Reds, Whites & Bites, Port Adelaide
