Who doesn’t love a discounted bottle of wine from one of the great wine regions of South Australia? I mean seriously, in the middle of a cost of living crisis, we’re all looking for a bargain, and with summer in full swing and all sorts of occasions to celebrate, there’s no better time than now to stock up on some affordable cleanskins.

Here at Glam Adelaide, we’ve always got an eye out for great deals and discounts to share with our readers. Recently, we came across a post in the Adelaide Hills Facebook group seeking recommendations for good quality, local cleanskins in the area. The Adelaide Hills residents who responded definitely know what’s up, so we’ve pulled from some of their suggestions to help create a guide on where to find great cleanskins in the Adelaide Hills.

Anvers Wines, Kangarilla

Located on the picturesque backroads of Kangarilla, the Anvers Wines cellar door on Razorback Road sell a range of cleanskins in magnum (1.5L) and double magnum sizes (3L). Currently, they’re selling a magnum 2005 McLaren Vale Shiraz for $155, a magnum 2006 McLaren Vale Shiraz for $155, and a double magnum 2004 Langhorne Creek Cabernet Sauvignon for $390.

Bleasdale Vineyards, Langhorne Creek

Bleasdale Vineyards in Langhorne Creek often have cleanskin sales at their Bleasdale warehouse sales. Their last warehouse sale, back in November 2024, featured a range of cheap cleanskins like their ten-year-old tawny, sparkling shiraz, 2020 Frank Potts, and a bunch of other cleanskin reds. During these sales, cleanskins are available for purchase online or at the Bleasdale Warehouse Carpark on 1640 Langhorne Creek Road, Langhorne Creek.

Bleasdale cleanskins can also be purchased at the Sip’n Save in Littlehampton.

Petaluma Wines, Woodside

Founded in 1976, Petaluma Wines was built on the belief in carefully selecting the finest viticultural sites within a particular iconic Australian wine region. They aren’t currently offering your typical unlabelled cleanskin bottle, but they do have magnum sized bottles of their Winemakers Release Riesling with handwritten labels available at their cellar door in Woodside.

Sidewood Estate, Hahndorf

Sidewood Estate in Hahndorf will occasionally advertise cleanskins for sale at their cellar door. Most recently, they were selling cases of their 2021 Shiraz for $65. Stay up to date on their socials to see when they’re selling cleanskins next.

Totino Estate Wines, Paracombe/Albert Park

Paracombe’s Totino Estate Wines have a selection of pinot gris, cabernet sauvignon and shiraz cleanskin bottles to purchase at their cellar door in Albert Park.

Unico Zelo, Gumeracha

From humble beginnings, Unico Zelo have fostered a new wine community by crafting playful and approachable wines, working with climatically appropriate varieties that showcase Australian terroir. Currently, they have white and red cleanskins in 750ml bottles that can be purchased by the dozen for $150 at their cellar door in Gumeracha.

Skye Cellars

Established in 1980, Skye Cellars is a family owned and operated business that became exclusively an online store after many years of trading at their original store in the foothills. As part of their mission to source the best wines, secure the best deals, and pass those savings on to customers, Skye Cellars stock a bunch of great cleanskins on the cheap, including rosé, moscato, shiraz, riesling, pinot grigio, and cabernet sauvignon.

With cleanskins from some of SA’s best wine regions, like Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, and Coonawarra, Skye Cellars have a great range of bottles to choose from. For a box of 12, you won’t have to pay anything higher than $120, but they have even cheaper offerings like the Managers Blend Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 which is $84 for a dozen.
