The 2025 Tour Down Under is kicking off for 10 days of cycling, community events, and more. Here’s a guide to some of the fun on offer.

The Santos Tour Down Under 2025 is here for another year, attracting a slate of top international cyclists to South Australia. With 10 days of not only racing, but lunches, and free community get-togethers, the annual sporting event is set to ignite South Australia with a diverse range of activities to choose from.

The FREE Santos Tour Down Under City of Adelaide Tour Village is also back in a big way, with plenty of places to chill out, stalls to explore, activities for the kids, food & drinks to try right in the centre of the city in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.

We’ve created a guide for what’s on and what to get involved in. We’ve wrapped up the 2025 cycling stages, everything that’s on this year at the Tour Village, and other events at wineries and more to up-scale your TDU experience.

2024 Cycling Stages

The 2025 stages are a blend of tradition and innovation as the race covers 1,198 kilometres across South Australia.

Ziptrak® Women’s Stage 1: Brighton to Aldinga | Friday, January 17

  • Start: 11:10am – Jetty Road, Brighton
  • Finish: 2:08pm – Esplanade, Snapper Point, Aldinga
  • Distance: 101.9km

FREE Santos Tour Down Under City of Adelaide Tour Village

The FREE Santos Tour Down Under City of Adelaide Tour Village is back in a big way, with plenty of places to chill out, stalls to explore, activities for the kids, food & drinks to try – and even some brand-new features. Check out everything you need to know about the City of Adelaide Tour Village, which is open every day until Saturday 25th, right in the centre of the city in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.  

This central city hub hosts the Team Zone, Bike Expo and activities for families and cycling fans of all ages.

The TDU City of Adelaide Tour Village is open:

  • Saturday 18 Jan: 11:00am – 7:00pm
  • Sunday 19 Jan: 11:00am – 7:00pm
  • Monday 20 Jan: 11:00am – 8:30pm

Team Presentations – Fri 17th Jan 2025 at 7:00PM

Riders will be introduced to the crowd and have time for autographs afterwards at the signing zone, with the women’s peloton to appear fresh from racing Ziptrak Stage 1 earlier in the day. Expect music, sponsor giveaways, and special on-stage appearances including Phil Liggett and Stuart O’Grady.

Come early for a drink, dinner and pre-presentation fun, and stay on as special guest DJ Hot Dub Time Machine takes to the stage with a set celebrating hits released since 1999.

Bike Expo

The Santos Tour Down Under’s Bike Expo will feature the latest technology and innovations from the biggest brands in cycling.Held in a 70-metre air-conditioned pavilion, the expo will feature a fully programmed stage for participants to learn from the experts.

Team Zone

Every champion cyclist needs a great mechanic. The Team Zone is your chance to see these wizards at work – and to meet your favourite riders. The Santos Tour Down Under is the only UCI WorldTour race offering fans this behind-the-scenes access.

Health Partners Recovery Zone

The Health Partners Recovery Zone is the fastest way to rest and recover after time on the bike. Featuring Primal Ice baths, recovery boots and massages from SportsMed, each treatment is designed to alleviate pain, inflammation and sore muscles while you relax in the City of Adelaide Tour Village. 

You must be aged 18 years or over to access this service. 

Talking Tour

Talking Tour is a series of free live panel chats held daily in the City of Adelaide Tour Village and hosted by veteran broadcaster Matt Keenan. Head along after each day of racing to relax with other fans as the conversation unfolds. The panel will delve into the day’s drama, preview the stage to come and share their thoughts on riders to watch.

Stirling Spin – Sun 19th Jan 2025 at 10:30AM

The leafy township of Stirling welcomes visitors to watch the Hyundai Women’s Stage 3 riders as they complete five loops through the township on Sunday 19 January. With children’s activities, food and drinks, come along and watch the race start and finish at Stirling Oval from 10:30am – 2:30pm.

Come and meet a group of local enthusiasts who will be displaying some South Australian made vintage bicycles. They will also be featuring a small collection of British and European made vintage race bicycles to coincide with the 25 years of the Santos Tour Down Under.

Pedal Party – Wed 22nd Jan 2025 at 11:00AM

A ‘pedal party’ with gin, wine and wheels on the deck! Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, in collaboration with Two Hands Wines, have some of the best seats in the region to catch all the day’s action.

With prime, elevated viewing, activities for the family including ‘bike and blend’ mocktails and an epic gin and wine drinks list, it’s the ideal place to kick back and watch the race as it whizzes past the Distillery twice.

The Legends’ Night Dinner returns with Telstra as presenting partner and 25 years of unforgettable moments to mark. This special occasion will be held in the William Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval and is set to feature legends of the sport, including the greatest sprinter of all time,  Sir Mark Cavendish, KBE.
