Adelaide has become home to many a High Tea spots that are perfect for Mother’s Day, birthdays or just an arvo with the girls!

There’s something about drinking endless tea, bubbles and those little cucumber sandwiches that just makes you feel fancy. Lucky for us, there are plenty of places that offer High Tea around Adelaide so grab the girls, put on your Sunday best and treat yourself to an afternoon of elegance.

Sol Rooftop

Indulge in a luxurious High Tea, complete with sweeping views of the Adelaide Hills and city skyline at Sol Rooftop at the Sky City. Start with a glass of the exclusive Penfolds x Thiénot Rosé Champagne, followed by a selection of organic tea and a beautifully curated tiered stand of sweet and savoury delicacies served to your table. Bridgeport Hotel


The Bridgeport Hotel has recently opened in 2021 after a $45 million transformation. The new venue boasts multiple eating areas, and one has a high tea menu! Relax in The Lounge with their signature High Tea featuring locally inspired cakes and pastries, scones and cream, ribbon sandwiches, tartlets, and other tasty locally made chocolates. Enjoy a coffee, tea, or sparkling wine alongside your food.

InterContinental Adelaide

Enjoy an elegant afternoon High Tea at the Intercontinental’s Riverside Restaurant that features a range of gourmet sandwiches, freshly baked scones and delicious sweets. Quite possibly the perfect complement to any Adelaide afternoon.

El Limon

The place to go if you’d like to organize your very own fully inclusive pop-up French Provincial High Tea event at home. El Limon provides the crockery and table decorations, with the option of tables and chairs if required. They can also create a vintage style picnic and dessert table, and you can choose from three different types of High Tea menus that include French press coffee and gourmet tea from T-bar. Delicious treats and an awesome event made super simple.

Lenzerheide

Featuring scones with jam and cream, sparkling wine, sandwiches, savouries and delectable sweet treats, the Lenzerheide High Tea is a top-shelf experience.

In addition, the grounds of this silver-service restaurant are beautifully maintained and the staff are regularly rated as exceptional. No expense spared here.

Stamford Grand 

From curry puffs to quiches, and scones to hand-rolled truffles, this relaxing afternoon High Tea offers bottomless Dilmah tea and has the added bonus of offering spectacular views of Glenelg beach from The Promenade Restaurant. A cut above the ordinary.

The Rising Sun

With tea served from T-bar and a Sparkling Pinot Noir Chardonnay upon arrival you know that these guys are serious about their Hgh Tea. Follow that up with sandwiches, scones and petit fours of the highest order, and this might be one of Adelaide’s best value and most underrated High Teas.

Utopia @ Waterfall Gully

Nestled at the bottom of Mt Lofty next to a beautiful waterfall, Utopia serves up sandwiches, scones, tartlets, macarons, truffles, cupcakes, fudges, quiches, muffins, gelati bites, mousse cups and more! You can also purchase extra wines, pink lemonade or tea and coffee as you please. Sounds like they’re living up to their name.

Mayfair Hotel

Experience the opulence of Mayfair Hotel’s Mayflower Restaurant. Offering a huge range of pastries, panna cotta and sweets, the Mayflower’s afternoon High Tea is the perfect way to accentuate your weekend in Adelaide, in the heart of the CBD.

High Tea Cruise on The Popeye

Yes, you are reading that correctly! Join the Popeye crew for a 90-minute cruise along the River Torrens combined with an authentic High Tea experience.  Pre-order a bottle of something special and enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, scones savouries and petit fours.

Tealicious Cakes

Made fresh daily, this High Tea menu includes a selection of ribbon sandwiches and quiches, warm scones with strawberry jam and cream, and assorted cheesecakes, tarts and macarons. Served with bottomless loose leaf Queen Anne breakfast tea or coffee, this a High Tea with some serious style. Well worth the trip to Willunga.

An unexpectedly good High Tea experience in the middle of a busy shopping mall. Everything here is made to order on the premises including a delicious range of pastries, cakes and scones. Surround yourself in flowers while you enjoy a range of speciality teas from Australia and abroad.

Queen of Adelaide

In ode of The Queen herself, this brand new High Tea cafe is the perfect way to enjoy a spot of tea and scone that Her Majesty would approve of. Enjoy mini sandwiches, delicate bites and miniature desserts, all served on the finest china this Jubilee weekend.
